Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

Grace Park is an OK choice for Prynn, but I really think Sandrine Holt would be a better fit, because of her own mixed ancestry.

I don't disagree. Sandrine Holt was my longtime preference from Prynn. I resisted Grace Park for a long time. Now I find myself torn between the two.

Which, now that I think about it, ain't a bad way to go.

I'm not sure. Honestly, it's never going to happen anyhow, so since we're being all pie-in-the-sky-ish, I'm happy to stick with Graf. :)
KRAD, speaking of the dearly departed. Which one of your created characters from the IKS Gorkon did you visualize as the late Andre the Giant?

Haven't played this game in a while, but I'll ante up:

Sean Connery as Vaughn
Milla Jovovich as Shar
Phil Morris as Taran'atar
Grace Park as Prynn
Roger R. Cross as Bowers
Angela Bassett as Asarem Wadeen
Daniel Dae Kim as Cenn Desca
Marg Helgenberger as Phillipa Mathias
Kate Walsh as Treir
Liam Neeson as Yevir Linjarin
Glenn Glose as Girani Semna
Charlize Theron as Aylam Edeen
Hugo Weaving as Alon Ghemor
Eric Stoltz as Ethan Locken
Michelle Yeoh as Ruriko Tenmei

Wow, I love all these picks, except Sean Conery, and that's only because of the accent. Appearance wise he's good, but I just can't get past the accent.

Mila Jovovich as Shar is an interesting and unexpected pick, I never thought of using a woman for Shar.

Now that I'm watching 24 Day 5, I must say that Roger R. Cross is perfect for Bowers, so I am changing my pick for Bowers from J. August Richards.

What accent is Vaughn supposed to have?

I always hear him with very feint midwestern accent. Though, since he grew up on Berengaria (IV?) there's no telling what sort of accent he might have.

Kate Walsh as Treir
I looked this one up, because I didn't recognize the name, and I don't watch Grey's Anatomy. She's not bad, but Suzie Plakson really is the #1 choice for Treir.

Hugo Weaving as Alon Ghemor
Bleah. Couldn't we get someone who can, y'know, act?

Michelle Yeoh as Ruriko Tenmei
I never object to casting Michelle Yeoh..... :D

Bekk Goran, the "big man" of the fifteenth.

Based on his picture in that one book (a Mission Gamma, I think), I can definitely see that. Of course, my mind will still probably play Sean Connery's voice in my head, just because I think he's really cool. :D But I think James Brolin or someone similar would work well, too.
( :wtf: What am I talking about? I haven't even read any Vaughn books yet! :vulcan: )

He just looks like, in another time, he'd have been some crotchety old farmer out in the middle of nowhere, meanest sumbitch in town.

If you really think there's a point to arguing over this nonsense, Keith, then by all means, carry on.

Think of it as stress relief... leaving KRAD more time to concentrate on writing answers for everything we could ever want to know about Trek... and, you know, writing the odd novel in his down-time ;)

Who's arguing? We're just shooting a rather pointless breeze here...... :)

ooh... Selar and K'Ehleyr were played by the same woman? Wow!

More than that. We had Season Two head writer, Tracy Tormé, at a New Zealand convention after his TNG stint. He had postulated a several-episode arc for Worf to follow "The Schizoid Man", with numerous references to Worf turning up at sickbay with unusual cuts and bruises, and obviously having an off-screen relationship with an Enterprise crewmember, finally revealing a few episodes later that it was with the Vulcan, Dr Selar.

The producers said no to that idea, but loved the concept of exploiting the height and probable chemistry between Suzie Plakson and Michael Dorn, so when K'Ehleyr the half-Klingon was created, they invited Suzie Plakson back to play her.

Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch

K'Ehleyr was a fantastic character, TNG could have done with more episodes with her in!

I don't want to think too much about a Worf/Selar relationship though... that's just too bizarre :wtf:

Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch

^ Yeah, who would even think of putting a Vulcan and a Klingon in a sexual relationship? <...whistling innocently...>
