Carey Mulligan wins Best Actress at BAFTAS

It's loosely based on the early life of the journalist Lynn Barber adapted by Nick Hornby, who I assume you've heard of. I won't link any articles about the film as they would probably spoil it. It's at 95% on Rotten Tomatoes.

William's learning to fly SAR helos with the RAF. it's quite perfectly conceivable that he could go out on a shout, his helo could get hit by lightning in a storm as he's trying to rescue a fishing boat or something and his helo drops out of the sky and goes down with all hands somewhere in the North Sea, leaving us with Chas as heir apparent and Harry as the new 2nd in line.

it's also concievable that he could be flying on a routine mission and some mechanical widget breaks and his helo slams itself into a hill side at 250+ mph and fireballs.

William's ascent to the throne is by no means certain.

Starkers, Dimesdan, I'll only say this:

1. I don't remember ever seeing either of you admit when you were wrong, either.

2. If you don't like how I post or how I construct my arguments, you are welcome to ignore them.

3. I did not engage in any personal attacks upon you. I do insist that you refrain from engaging in personal attacks upon me.

I'll let you have the last words.

Funny, if you go 4 or 5 posts up you can see me write the words "I didn't know that" so frankly I do admit when I'm wrong. Hell after CoE didn't I say I take back everything I ever said about RTD? :)

I'm sorry if that got a bit too personal. And ignore your posts? Never, they task me, they task me and I shall have them ;)

I do agree with you at times, and I do defend you at times, I just wish you weren't quite so intractable all the time!

i want him to acknowledge my post and the fact that William's ascent is not guarenteed.

1. I hadn't actually read your post before just now, and I apologize for that. I simply didn't notice it.

2. As I said above, I consider the probability of Prince William dying before ascending to the throne to be so low that it's not worth remarking upon. In particular, I consider the probability so low as to not be worth remarking upon in the context of analyzing whether or not it is appropriate for a former Trotskyite to show him respect on the basis of his presumed future ascension. You disagree. What more is there to say?

Funny, if you go 4 or 5 posts up you can see me write the words "I didn't know that" so frankly I do admit when I'm wrong.

Which demonstrates my point: I'm not keeping a score card for you. Why are you bothering to keep one for me?

I'm sorry if that got a bit too personal. And ignore your posts? Never, they task me, they task me and I shall have them ;)

Fair enough. :bolian:

I do agree with you at times, and I do defend you at times, I just wish you weren't quite so intractable all the time!

In the immortal words of Popeye the Sailor Man:

"I am what I am and that's all that I am."

sorry, but with eleventy thousand possible problems with flying a helicopter and another eleventy thousand potentials for disaster in flying SAR helos, i would call it significant, not low.

I wasn't overly fond of her in Who ("Sad is happy for deep people" is just onoxiously fucking pretentious) but she was well deserving of this award. Fantastic performance.
