Cards fans

Your franchise has made a new fan, and after an amazing run in the playoffs
and a huge performance in the Super Bowl I'm sure it's made many more.

I'm a diehard Jaguars fan, and a fan of Warner's which is mainly why I rooted
for the Cardinals this year, but I think I've finaly found a western team worth
rooting for and an NFC team to root for.

Warner or not, and regardless if the Cards make the playoffs next year
(and they will ;)) I'll be rooting for them from here on out.
This franchise is deserving of a Championship and certainly of more fans abroad.
Congrats on the great year, playoffs and NFC title.

You guys aren't too far from me, I'll have to make a trip down next season. :D

~ A new part-time Cardinals fan.

This Broncos fan (and part time Redskins fan) is now really interested in the Cardinals! I'm loyal to more than one baseball team, so why not football, too? :p

I think this is one of the few cases where the losing team will be remembered
and very fondly by more people than some would think.

I've always had my favorite, then there's usually a group of teams that
I also have interest in depending on who is playing for them and the teams
story. This year Arizona caught both with me, and now they've caught me
for good. As long as they don't play my Jags I'll always be pullin for em. :p

Well, I can't be a Cards fan (49ers fan) but well done on this playoff run. Looking forward to playing you guys next season.

Funny, I like both Indy and Houston though they are in my division.
I still root against them when it's the Jags, but otherwise I like em.

Certainly understandable though, I don't think I could ever root for the
Titans in anyway. ;)

I was rooting for the Cardinals in the playoffs, and I'm glad they got this far. I really wanted to see Warner finish with a game-winning touchdown, but alas.

Unfortunately, in the end, the Cards fell the same way the Seahawks did, albeit in a better game. Now that you've had your fun though, it will be back to Seattle winning the division in 09. :)

I'm a native Pittsburgher, so you know my loyalties.

But the Cardinals played well, *especially* in the fourth quarter. They were definitely worthy adversaries and yikes! they almost won. In fact, towards the end, I was afraid that they would.

Agreed. The refs boned the Cardinals with a six-incher. The Seahawks got a full footlong.

I'm still astonished that Steelers fans can celebrate that "win" (and I use the word looser than an Orion hooker) over Seattle, when they were basically gift-wrapped a championship. It was a travesty and a disgrace. Now that's not to say Pittsburgh wouldn't have won fair and square, but I would have liked to see that game instead of the one we were presented.

This one wasn't as bad as all that, but ... the Cardinals have something of a legitimate beef over the incompletion ruled a fumble, the ridiculous personal fouls that wouldn't have been called in a two-hand touch game, etc.

I also think Arizona's offensive play-calling sucked until the fourth quarter. They gave the Steelers' secondary respect it didn't deserve, and hamstrung themselves thereby.

Next year will be different.

In many ways, the Cardinals owe the Steelers a debt of gratitude. Whisenhunt and Grimm came from their organization, and brought a belief that hard work and talent will overcome negative karma. They've made that team a winner, and they ain't done yet.

So thank you, Pittsburgh Steelers. You've birthed a new power in the desert.

I ain't an aficionado of no sport team but tonight I wanted SuperBowl virgins Arizona :cardie:s to conquer them rippersnapper Pittsburgh Stealers as I reckon :cardie:s first time in the ring.

Very disappointed I am, I is those :cardie:s of Arizona conquered by them Stealmen out of western Pennsylvania:mad:

I do have a question though. Since when was Roughing the Place Holder a penalty? That's something I don't think I've ever seen called before.

Hmm... that's a good question.

Even if it were, it's much like the situation with the lame roughing the passer
call. Seriously? Way too close to call that, especialy considering the player
can't exactly control momentum once it's going like that.

Anywho, Warner really needs to stay. Just one more year KW!

The Cards gift wrapped this one between the penalties in the 3rd quarter and that INT at the end of the second. I'm thinking we should have settled for the FG to tie and just came out charging in the 2nd half.

Loved the Cards play in the 4th though. When was the last time there was a safety called in a Super Bowl? That was incredible...

Not a Cardinals fan, but I was rooting for them to win last night. I'm sorry they couldn't pull it off.

Oh well, I hope the organization and the fans don't get discouraged. You guys have a good thing going down there.

..................When was the last time there was a safety called in a Super Bowl? That was incredible...

Buffalo scored a safety against the Giants in 1991 in Super Bowl XXV. Bruce Smith, recently announced as an entrant to the pro football Hall of Fame, got Hostetler for the two point play. Have there been any since?

Buffalo Bills: Proud Losers of Four Straight - 1991-1994. For this, and the Bills horrid seasons since then, owner Ralph Wilson gets into the Hall as well?

Seriously, Ralph does deserve it for many of the things he's done - one of the founders of the AFL, bailed out Al Davis and the Raiders in the AFL days, keeping the team in Buffalo all these years, etc. But still, it would be nice to switch up the MO and get a proven coach and a real GM and take a shot at the prize again. Even MAKING the playoffs would be something. But no. Three straight years of Dick Jauron and 7-9 records and they give him an extension? No wonder it's so cold in Buffalo this winter.

You don't a Cardinal fan what year they became a fan, you ask them what week they became a fan.

I was at the 47-7 beatdown the Pats handed them. It's amazing how they were able to turn it all around after that.

In the end, I was pulling for them as well. The last time they won a title my Mom was in diapers. It's gotta be their turn sometime.

Sadly, I don't see them being perennial contenders at this point. Warner found the fountain of youth this year but you can't know if he can do that again next year. Boldin is disgruntled and wants out.

Anyone know if they have any other key free agents?

Don't get TOO upset for the Cardinals fans: The Steelers didn't beat the spread, so a lot of Cards fans made some money yesterday :)

Well I tell you what. I can say this as someone who was rooting for the Steelers to win, but it's pretty hard to win when you have to play the opposong team and the refs too. Cards played a good game, but just couldn't overcome the Steelers AND the refs.

(hey refs, you ever hear of a thing called "offsides.")
