Best Lines - Janeway

From "The Haunting of Deck 12" Captain Janeway in a fight with an alien who's taken over the ship's systems and who's trying to get her to surrender.

JANEWAY : Like hell I will. I won't be your prisoner. You'll have to kill me.

Alien-possessed Computer: ACKNOWLEDGED.

Poor Janeway begins choking...!

I agree with the statement that it isn't always what she says but more often how she says it. Her voices can hit a note that's just below shrill but just above soprano and I love it every time it happens. Her "dramatic" voice is my favorite of all the captains because, especially later in the series, it doesn't sound "silly" the way other captains sometimes do (like Sisko shaking his jowls when he says "Battle stations.")

One of my favorite examples is from Shattered.

Janeway: If the temporal anomaly doesn't kill them something else will – the Borg, telepathic pitcher plants, macroviruses – the Delta Quadrant is a death trap!"

-Withers-
Couldnt agree more, Withers. KM has superb delivery. It's that theatrical training and skill!

"Vulture's eat the dead, Mr. Paris. We're not dead yet!"

how about to Tom "Be a good rat and find us the cheese."

I also like in Flesh and Blood when she tells Tom, who'asked her if they will retreat,

"Tom, by now you should know me a little better than that"

You're "Flesh & Blood" quote reminded me of another ep I don't watch often enough. "Distant Origin".

PARIS : Captain, if you can hear me, I've got weapons control and I've armed a full spread of torpedoes.
HALUK: Who's that?
JANEWAY: My helmsman. Sounds like he's about to blast a hole in the side of your ship. Lieutenant Paris, fire. You might want to hold onto something.

Or more telling, from "Year of Hell"

JANEWAY: How do you plan to implement this protocol, Doctor? Mister Tuvok doesn't have a security team, both the brigs have been destroyed, and with the internal force fields offline you'll have a hell of a time keeping me confined. You'd better grab a phaser, because before I give up command you'll have to shoot me.

I know this isn't probably a quote but i love how Kate mulgrew delivers her lines in bliss and says Worm hole when she comes out of turbo-lift it makes me laugh every time :)

I'm rewatching season 5, so here are some quotes from Counterpoint (actually I could just post the whole transcript ;) ) :

Janeway: Just what the Doctor didn't order. Tuvok, Seven I want you to lay in a course that'll attract as little attention as possible. Avoid their colonies, space stations, tourist attractions, if they have any. (the look on her face is priceless!)

further on in the same episode...
Janeway: Only this time they answer to me. Consider them a reminder that Voyager is my ship. (who could EVER doubt that?!)

With Kashyk in the mess hall:
Janeway: I haven't decided whether I like you at all.

and the last one, on the bridge:
Kashyk:Those aren't neutrino emissions, they're antimatter residue signatures. There's no wormhole here. You created false readings.
Janeway: That is the theme for this evening, isn't it?

I just LOVE Counterpoint...did you notice?

It is a WORTHY episode to love, kj. :-)

KASHYK: Perhaps. Captain do you trust me?
JANEWAY: Not for a second.

:D It definitely is! And I just love how her face is flushed almost throughout the entire episode! :D

Janeway: "Those Admirals and I are on a first name basis, you know." YAY!!!

Another great ep is "Unimatrix Zero".

"The last time I heard the words, 'My mind to your mind,' I had a headache for a week!"

Not to mention the last thing she said to Chakotay at the end of part 1.

"Surprise me."

DUH! I love that last quote! :D

How about this one from Night
Janeway: My mind is perfectly clear.

or this one
Janeway: I made an error in judgment, Chakotay. It was short-sighted and it was selfish, and now all of us are paying for my mistake.

I like Night, in case you haven't noticed

Got to agree with you, its a great episode, it shows how depressed she is and you start to feel sorry for her :)

From your favorite, "Night".

TUVOK: As you can see, you're not the only one who's had time to evaluate the past.
JANEWAY:
Yes, I can see that. You realize you could all be hanged for mutiny. Looks like we need another option.

And from another season 5 ep, "Extreme Risk". (I love these two!)

JANEWAY: You don't really expect me to believe that, do you?
TORRES: Are you calling me a liar?
JANEWAY: According to the holodeck logs, you've been spending a lot of time there over the last few months. If I were to check, would I find that you've been running other programs without safety protocols?
TORRES: Would you like to look at my personal logs as well?
JANEWAY: B'Elanna, I'm worried about you. If there's something wrong, I want to help.
TORRES: Nothing's wrong. Okay?
JANEWAY: No. It's not okay, and until you decide to be more forthcoming you'll remain under the Doctor's supervision. Which means you're off the shuttle project. I'm sorry.
TORRES: I'm not.
JANEWAY: Now I know there's something wrong.

Great quotes!

Another great one between Janeway and Torres is from Nothing Human
JANEWAY: I hope you can understand why I went against your wishes, B'Elanna. Losing you was unacceptable. I know you're angry, but we need to put this behind us. Understood?
TORRES: Is that an order?
JANEWAY: Yes.
TORRES: You can't order someone to get rid of an emotion, Captain.
JANEWAY: And what emotion is that?
TORRES: You had no right to make that decision for me!
JANEWAY: I'm the Captain. You're my crewman. I did what I thought best. I get the feeling there are still a few demons in the air. Let's hope this does the trick, huh?

I like the demons part ;) Almost every serious discussion between Janeway and Torres is really nice.

Re: "I love these two!"

From the end of "Barge of the Dead."

TORRES: (Awakening from her coma) Mother? (Awake)Oh, god, I'm alive!
JANEWAY: (From the center of a Klingon bearhug) Welcome back.

Wow, another great episode!
Continuing with "Barge of the dead"

Janeway: There's a limit to how far I'll let religious practices go aboard this ship. If your belief system required you to sacrifice a child to your gods I wouldn't allow that either.

Ohhhh, you've set off a BotD competition!

Fav B'ELANNA line this time.

TORRES: My mother. You're as dedicated to Starfleet principles as she was to Klingon honour. I know that we haven't always seen eye to eye, but despite our differences you helped me become a good officer and I'd like to think that you're proud of me for it.
JANEWAY: I am.
TORRES: My mother never had the chance to be proud of me. I'd like her to know me the way you do. I don't want her to die thinking of me as a disgrace. You have to let me do this.

(Followed by the favored Janeway head nod.)

From an old fav, "Latent Image".

I love the discussions that went on during this ep:

JANEWAY: Still. We allowed him to evolve, and at the first sign of trouble... We gave him a soul, B'Elanna, do we have the right to take it away now?
TORRES: We gave him personality subroutines. I'd hardly call that a soul.

Immediately followed by...

JANEWAY: I'm having trouble with the nature of individuality.
SEVEN: You require a philosophical discussion.
JANEWAY: There's a time and a place for it. This is one of them. After I freed you from the Collective, you were transformed. It's been a difficult process. Was it worth it?
SEVEN: I had no choice.
JANEWAY: That's not what I asked you.
SEVEN: If I could change what happened, erase what you did to me, would I? No.

followed by...

JANEWAY: I have a headache.
EMH: Fever, you have a fever.
JANEWAY: I'll live.
EMH: Medical emergency!
JANEWAY: Doctor.
EMH: Someone's got to treat you immediately. Call Mister Paris. You've got to get to Sickbay.
JANEWAY: Doctor, I'm a little busy right now helping a friend.

Nice ones again!

Here are some from Scientific Method...gotta love pissed Janeway :D
Janeway: You are senior officers and I expect you to maintain the standard for the rest of the crew but this adolescent behaviour makes me question my faith in you both. If you choose to pursue a relationship that's your business. You consider yourselves under orders to use better judgment about it. Is that understood?

Tuvok: Good morning, Captain.
Janeway: That's a matter of opinion. What is it?

Alzen: You're a remarkably strong-willed individual. I've been very impressed by your self-control over the past several weeks. We've been increasing your dopamine levels, stimulating various aggressive impulses to test your behavioural restraints. There's been a great difference of opinion about how much more strain you can bear.
Janeway: Not much.
Alzen: I had hoped you'd be more co-operative once you realised the importance of our work.
Janeway: Sorry. These lab rats are fighting back.

ALZEN: Consider what's in the best interests of your crew. We will be continuing our research. If you make no further attempts to interfere, I assure you that the fatality rate will be minimal, though there may be some deformities. And I would be willing to share our final data with you.
JANEWAY: You can't possibly expect me to accept that.
