For anyone subscribing to Paramount+, are you watching Lower Decks today? Or at least streaming it in the background while you get on with life/day-to-day things?
Tell us how you're watching/streaming: Do you have favourite episodes that you're going through? Or are you starting from the beginning and watching them all? Or, if you're not a fan, are you streaming it anyway to add your support to the rest?

And even if you don't have P+ or just aren't streaming LDS for whatever reason, why not tell us which is your favourite episode, or who is your favourite character. Have you created any fan art or fan fic? Do you have any LDS merchandise?

I don't have P+ so I'm not watching, unfortunately, but I love LDS - it's my favourite Trek series - and I hope either P+ saves it or that it's picked up by another service (like Prodigy was picked up by Netflix).

I can't pick a favourite episode, but I love "First First Contact" for giving us Kimolu & Matt in Cetacean Ops (amongst loads of other awesome & amazing things)

Rutherford is my favourite character

I've got a Cetacean Ops beach towel and four t-shirts - a couple of which can be seen here. I really want a lifesize Rutherford action figure, though:

This is my latest LDS fan art (for January's TREK BBS Fan Art Challenge):

And my favourite Even Lower Deckers in The Andorian with the Rubber Ducky Room Tattoo (from March 2023's fan art challenge):

Oh, yes, she was a bit. As with many, it took me a while to warm to Mariner, but now she's one of my favourite Trek characters.

I ended up watching season 1, and I had forgotten how annoying Mariner was. Her downright psychotic behavior in "Crisis Point" was quite disturbing, but it did get her moving in the right direction when she was shown up by herself.

I’m not kidding myself into thinking that it really makes any difference or that there’s even a slim chance of moving Paramount to continue producing Lower Decks after they’ve cancelled it, but I still did my part and watched the first four episodes yesterday. It was good to have some excuse doing that.

It’s funny going back to the beginning of the show and notice all the ways the show has changed and how it was tweaked. Still, everything that makes the show good is already there in those first handful of episodes. My favorite of those would probably have to be “Envoys”, where I love both Rutherford’s storyline of going through all divisions and the end of the Boimler/Mariner storyline, where they make clear that Mariner has her heart in the right place.

Damn, I will really miss these characters! Thankfully we’re still getting another season before it’s all over. I wonder if we’ll ever see another Trek show quite like this one.

I don't think this will work. I think it only worked with Prodigy because they already had another season ready (or at least half of one), so they actually had something to sell to another service.

There's no partially complete Lower Decks Season 6 out there.

That first episode... I'd forgotten how abusive Mariner was.
Yeah, a reviewer I watch on YouTuber, SFDebris even suggested in his Season 1 review to skip Episode 1 on a first viewing. He even skipped it in his review and reviewed it later in the season.

I can definitely see what people are talking about with Mariner, but having just watched the first few episodes again I can’t say they really dialed it down after the first one. Plus, as frantic and annoying as Mariner might be in that first episode, they also make it pretty clear from the get go that she’s in Starfleet to do good and help people (which she does in the first episode) and also that some of her frustrations with Boimler and the “upper deckers” are not completely unfounded.

For me personally the moments where I felt Mariner was at her most annoying and abusive was that briefing room scene in “Moist Vessel” where she was constantly yawning and her whole behavior in “Cupid's Errant Arrow”, where for some reason she doesn’t grant Boimler having a girlfriend.

And distrust. I thoroughly enjoy Mariner because she is a person who is reflected in the Maquis attitude but doesn't go so far to just opt out of Starfleet. She is willing to use the system to continue forward and do good.

As much as I love all the people in this video … I gotta say … this is hella cringe.

Also, they all do have the “cameo” watermark on them; does that mean they didn’t even participate in this campaign of their own volition but got paid for it? What good is all of this supposed to do?

Futurama has proven that animated shows can resurrect down the line. Once Paramount explodes then someone might pick it up, perhaps years or even a decade or more later. Like Futurama, it has a very devoted audience and animated characters don’t age.

~ Ooh, yes - good point! I won't hold my breath, but it would be nice in the not too distant future.

P.S. Thank you for the recent art thread likes (unable to PM a proper thank you

P+ subscribers are going up as they open up to more regions. Problem is it's going slowly and Netflix is still king in the streaming Market which is why Prodigy is going to outlast LD looking at the Jurassic World Cartoon that has 6 seasons on Netflix now and still going.

Can still work if they export season 5 to Netflix and then Season 6 gets pick up by Netflix.
