"Ab Aeterno" Live Commentary

Seems to be dragged out too long. How many minutes did we really need to spend on Richard along in the ship?

*yawn*

Yeah lots of stuff, but in typical LOST fashion, it's moving slowly and simply adds to my confusion.

Really? So far, MiB has the sword that will evenutally belong to Dogen. He says the same thing to Richard that Dogen told Sayid. "Don't talk to him; stab him in the heart"

We, like Richard, have yet to decide who the devil is ;)

One positive thing about Jacob though is that he seems to inspire people to want to live. Showing Jack that he has a purpose, and showing Richard that he wants to live.

Aha! Now we know why the statue broke! Their ship did destroy it, but we still don't know why it has 4 toes.

I wonder if them breaking it is what caused babies to stop being born on the island.

Maybe. It was the Egyptian God of Fertility, wasn't it?

Sorry, but this is far from an exceptional installment. It meanders. It provides some info, some backstory. But it really doesn't mean a whole lot -- it's not a story that really has a whole lot of resonance. Yeah, sure, there is the whole quest for redemption motif. But very little of the episode has anything to do with that. Instead, we get pigs! on a ship!

Ok boys and girls. Who's lying, Jacob or Smoky? We've been let to believe Smoky is evil but could we be wrong?

These two are like Sam the Coyote and Ralph the Sheepdog...

WOW, this episode was so awesome, a lot actually became much clearer now! And I loved the episode being mostly a flash back. They REALLY answered all the Richard questions quite well.
