Very true buckeyenation. Very true. I mean I think at best they'd get some re-run time, but even then there really was no such thing as syndication like we have now where its on the network one week and then on another channel a few weeks later. (like with VOY - sometimes you'd have a week or so delay on the syndicated repeat on the weekend which was nice in case of a two parter, if you missed part 1 you'd be able to see it a few days later!
In any case, I think ENT did a great thing for the TOS E in that it showed how retractable weapons could be plausible and even the new movie had the weapons retracting and MANY weapon hard points being fired. We always knew the E could hold its own, but I doubt the 60s SFX could handle 50 different streams of weapons at once.
And if anyone thought the Enterprise didn't have aft torps and aft phasers is just silly.
