Mitchell and Webb & Psychoville

Bob The Skutter

Complete Arse Cleft
In Memoriam
New series of That Mitchell and Webb Look, plus the new series from 2 of The League of Gentlemen, Psychoville, start on Thursday the 11th of June on BBC Two.

Scary, funny and bloody, BBC Two and BBC HD introduce a new comedy-thriller from Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton, two of the acclaimed creators of The League Of Gentlemen.
Steve and Reece are joined by a rich mix of talent, including Dawn French, Eileen Atkins, Nicholas Le Prevost, David Bamber, Janet McTeer, Christopher Biggins, Daisy Haggard, Debbie Chazen, Daniel Kaluuya and Adrian Scarborough.
Episode One begins with a mystery. Mr Lomax, a blind recluse with an unusual hobby; Robert, a telekinetic dwarf; Mr Jelly, an embittered, hook-handed clown; David, a serial-killer obsessed man-child; and Joy, a deranged but caring midwife, each receive black edged cards bearing the anonymous message: "I know what you did."
As the past catches up with these five apparently unconnected characters, their lives begin to unravel.

Easy to see where they got the Psychoville title from - that's what The League Of Gentlemen is called in Asia.

Psychoville was, as expected, brilliant! Much better than Krod Mandoon, which was the other show I caught for the first time today.

It did feel very League Of Gentlemen-ish, with Mr Jelly and Joy coming across especially as natural followers from Papa Lazarou and Pauline. Which, IMO is a good thing - in fact I get the feeling it really is LoG season 4 with them changing the title to avoid being pestered with "Why isn't my favourite character in this year?"

Watching episode 2 on Red Button now...

Wow - is it me or has Mitchell and Webb took a huge dive with the new characters? The only skits I liked in that episode was Remain Indoors and The Two Snooker Commentators retrospective. Outside of them two I didn't laugh a bit.

I miss Sir Digby Chicken Caesar. :(

Great and quite gripping stuff there in Psychoville. :bolian: Steve Pemberton in particular was brilliant.

And of course Mitchell and Webb before that had me in stitches for the most part - Dr. Death was easily the funniest skit there.

The second episode of Psychoville was even better! It also seemed to go a lot quicker, as well as being funnier.

Waiting for Psychoville on HD, just pre-ordered the Blu-ray set of Psychoville.

I'm liking Mitchell and Webb as much as ever.

I never liked Sir Digby Chicken Caesar, and I actually thought this weeks episode was far superior to last weeks.

But Sir Digby Chicken Caesar is the best of the lot! (although Numberwang does come close)

Just watched Psychoville - loved it! Especially the "Fuck Pig" line, delivered as only Pemberton can.

BTW - Sir Digby is the awesomeness. That is all.
