The game takes place between the prequels and the original trilogy, and follows a Padawan who survived Order 66 and is now trying to survive in the Empire controled Galaxy. His name is Cal Kestis, and he is played by Gotham's Cameron Monaghan, which means he will be the second Jedi to be played by an actor who has also played The Joker. He works for a group who salvages capital ship wreckages left over from the Clone Wars.
It will feature evolving lightsaber and Force abilities.
The Inquisitor known as Second Sister, and Purge Troopers, who were first introduced in Charles Soule and Giuseppe Camuncoli's Darth Vader comic book series will be appearing in the game, along with a new character named Seer, played by MadTV's Debra Wilson, and a new droid named BD-1 whose voice was designed and performed by legendary sound designer Ben Burtt. Burrt worked on the Original Trilogy, Prequels, and The Force Awakens, and was responsible for some of the series most iconic sounds. Outside of Star Wars Burtt also worked on the original Indiana Jones trilogy, The Dark Crystal, ET, and the JJ Abrams Star Trek movies.

I really miss Lucasarts. They didn't hit it out of the park every time, but it was rare for them to get everything wrong (Force Commander wasn't very good, interface wise), and they didn't tend for DLC "just to make it work".

I don't know, I feel like Lucasart's peak was in the 90's. Once the prequels came out, they pretty much switched to almost exclusively Star Wars Prequel tie-in games and while there were some highlights (most of which were made by outside studios, not in-house), overall the level of quality and creativity went decidedly *down*. By the time they finally shut it down and just switched to a licencing arm of the company, it was already a shadow of it's former self.

I generally consider 'Grim Fandango' (or maybe 'X-Wing Alliance'?) to be the last gasp of old school Lucasarts. 'Escape from Monkey Island' was kind of a death rattle.

I never have played the Titanfall games, but people seem to really like them, so I'm optimistic they can pull this off.

Would be more excited if I could make the character who I wanted like in Jedi Academy all those years ago, which is probably my favourite game in terms of lightsabre combat. Though going for a name gives them something to promote it on and maybe a stepping stone for something on DIsney+.

The biggest issue though is the lack of gameplay. So many pretty average games have had good, better than this, trailers. I'm sure when E3 comes along during EA's presentation we'll get all that.

Looking forward to it, although I am not getting my hopes up, last SW game I enjoyed was Outcast from the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series.

Really miss the 90s Star Wars gaming, Dark Forces, X-Wing, TIE Fighter, etc. Not to mention all the great Lucasarts adventure games of the era.

Best thing about the old Star Wars games was no Jedi, just run and gunning in DF, and being a pilot in the flight sims.

EA has said there are currently no plans for DLC, and there will be no microtransactions.

It's also on the Unreal engine, not Frostbite.

Chris Avellone, is one of the writers on the game. He was the lead writer on KOTOR2, and a writer on several well received games.

EA. I'll wait until all the review are out.
It's being developed by Respawn Entertainment, who really hasn't made a bad game yet. They also started development in 2016 before EA bought Respawn.

This is just the first reveal trailer, those very rarely ever have gameplay.
These kinds of story driven action games rarely ever give you a player created character, that's more of an RPG thing.
They have announced that we will be getting an art of book for the game.

Outcast was great.

The Force Unleashed was pretty decent. You got to bring down a Star Destroyer.

I hope there's a multiplayer match/duel mode. I used to love going online for some good old-fashioned lightsaber-rattling.
