Online Trek comic

Thanks :techman:
I'm glad you enjoy it. I was a bit worried about creating pages without dialogues...
You would never see that in my youth (Spiderman is the classic hero who wisecracks through fights while Wolverine's inner voice would narrate while he was berserk) but I've seen modern comics use no dialogue fights a lot. The only other things you can do is either change the order of the dialogue to sprinkle it all through the fight scenes or add extra dialogue. I suppose you could look at dialogue from cut scenes, novelisations, or earlier script drafts but I should imagine it would be rare that such 'official' dialogue would fit where you need it.

After reading Harlan Ellison's version of Yeoman Rand in City on the Edge of Forever I fancy editing her back into the show, since I think what happened to Grace was terrible and quite a few of her scenes were cut when you look at early drafts, either because she was expensive to appear for just a couple of lines or because they didn't want the Kirk romance to be too front and centre (in Corbomite Manoeuvre, Mudd's Women, Balance of Terror, Space Seed, Conscience of the King, City on the Edge of Forever, and the Trouble with Tribbles spring to mind). It's trickier where her part was altered and given to different characters because you can't do credit to her without affecting one of the other characters (Helen Noel is great but she basically stole Rand's greatest action heroine role).

The additional scenes involving Saavik and Peter, and the torture scenes in TWoK are some of the most lamented scenes for me.

I started this an an amateur (and I still it now), but I learned several things about how a comic works. As you proposed about extra dialogues, I've learned to add some extra balloons where the reader could have had difficulties following the scenes or to fill the "emptyness" in pages where the actors never spoke.
But... I didn't thought to dig in the footage/cutscenes of the episode. I was aware of the fact that, somehow, someone found some unused material and it was available. Since the beginning I was always looking for a comic that was close to the episode as much as possible. In the end I think that was a good choice, but a wiser use of exception it would have been a better start point.

I've just have a sneak peek at your Youtube channel and it's great. You've anticipated New Visions, at least 3 years. I started watching Angels of Acheron and I like it :techman:.
Regarding Yeoman Rand, I think that, having had only 3 years of show and generally focused on Kirk, Spock and McCoy, several other characters have been undervalued. Janice Rand was also one of my favourite despite her short minutage in the show.

I was inspired by Star Trek the Motion Comic on YouTube but I know what you mean. I think I have improved but due to available time my production standards have remained low.

With hindsight, I can see why it is so difficult to do justice to all the characters. In including so many guest characters, it has become impossible, and I need to concentrate more on the leads in the next (and final) story, I think I'd like to bring it back in to the main characters.

Rand plays a fairly prominent role because I wanted to build on a paragraph from the novel the Captains Daughter where she confirmed to Sulu that she had a child that died very young. She, Decker, and Ilia are the only characters with defined arcs.

I never started a "my own" truly project, so I haven't managed several characters, but I trust you when you said that, growing the story, can became really difficult to handle each character in a proper way.

I agree with You that time is our greatest challenge. I don't think that you have low standard, I'm enjoying your works.

I read the firsts two parts of "Angels of Acheron", sadly I don't have to much time, but I hope to finish it before the end of the week. There are several good ideas and I liked the crossover plot. I also appreciated the guest star Deanna Troi.

I was being mischievous with the Troi lookalike. I dislike the whole concept of betazoids so I was trying to add more of a Blake's 7 / Babylon 5 dynamic to the telepathy.

I've never seen Blake's 7 and unfortunately I saw only few episodes of Babylon 5 (only the first season if I recall right), but I think I understand your point of view.

Watching Babylon 5 is one of the things on my TODO list since I've created it... I think I'll give a try also to Blake's 7, I've read the wiki page after you mention it and it looks very interesting.

This is interesting work. I wish I could see something like this in print.

Thanks Kor
I've all the images in full bleed size 300dpi, but I think that there will be some problems of copyright in sharing them for printing.
I've done it for my own fun (high resolution images) and for sharing with other fans.

Ooops, seems that I've uploaded the italian version...:brickwall:
Now everything should be ok
