Sleepy Hollow Season 2 Discussion

Gryffindorian

The second season is off to a good start. Ichabod Crane searches for
Benjamin Franklin's key that could open the door to purgatory and thereby free Abbie Mills before Henry, the Horseman of War, gets his hands on it to unleash Molloch and his army. Meanwhile, Katrina is being held captive by the Headless Horseman.

I thought it was a fine episode. Henry now has an armor he can control.

'Twas okay, better than I thought as a 'resolution' to the cliffhanger. Don't like to see Noble's acting talents wasted on a mustache-twirling villain, but c'est la vie.

Anyone catch the Observer in purgatory shot?

That was a great start... I was caught off guard a little in the beginning with "Rambo Icabod" showing off tactical skills with a crossbow, but when they revealed what was going on, I was pleased...

Really like the way they have kept up the energy of the end of season one and can't wait to continue watching!

Liked the premiere, but did have to  at the manner Ichabod escaped his grave.

Really? :alienblush:

If there was enough sulfur in that ground to blow all the dirt upward, wouldn't there be enough to blow down INTO the flimsy coffin and kill our intrepid Revolutionary war here? :sigh:

^^ The ground was loosely packed, having been recently shoveled in, so the blast took the path of least resistance. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

It's great to have these characters back. I love just watching Ichabod and Abby interact. I don't even care if there's a story. :rommie:

I also love how they work early American history into the episodes, like using Franklin's infamous key and alphabet as story elements. And this was a nice portrayal of Franklin. I was initially amused at Ichabod's disdain for Franklin, but then I remembered they did something similar with Jefferson. I hope they don't have him hating all the Founding Fathers but Washington.

Solid opening. I'm ashamed to admit they actually fooled me that they were jumping forward a year in time and killing the wife and sister and I was getting all stewed about it

What, did you expect the show's physics to be any better than its history? ;) If it made sense, it wouldn't be the show we love.

Maybe it was just me but I felt like this episode was meant to be longer and was condensed down into a single installment. I could have seen this as a two-part opener as the plot hardly had time to breathe.

Ichabod's ridiculous escape aside I find that I missed this show over the summer months. Glad to have it back!

This is where I shamelessly plug the first official SLEEPY HOLLOW novel, "Children of the Revolution," by our own Keith DeCandido.

And, yes, that was a very fun, fast-paced episode. I admit I laughed out loud at the shirtless beefcake shot of the Headless Horseman!

How is that different from how the show's been all along? It's always crammed a ton of stuff into each episode.

Clearly we need a Sleepy Hollow/TURN crossover . . ..

The season premiere was unfortunately saddled with resolving the cliffhangers of the previous episode and wasn't able to do its own thing. Not a bad episode, but it's good to get it out of the way. Next week should be better.
