Spoilers Wynonna Earp - Season 1

Honestly, I'm finding it amusing enough. And, yes, I've never read the original graphic novel or looked at any websites, but anybody with a passing familiarity with Wyatt Earp and the OK Corrlal knew who "Henry" is supposed to be the minute he showed up. His courtly speech patterns alone are a giveaway.

Still not entirely sure what he is these days, but . . . .

I just came across an interview with the actor who plays him, and the pilot did not do a good job of conveying the things he was talking about.

I thought he climbed out of the well because he was looking for the gun. The actor says his character was trapped down there and somehow Wyonna freed him without knowing it.

Also, he says...
Doc isn't one of the undead brought back to life. He's cursed to live as an immortal, but he can still be killed by regular methods.

Honestly, I never knew that "Doc" Holliday's real name was John Henry Holliday until I looked it up just now (after guessing who it was you were referring to). Although my familiarity with Earp and the OK Corral comes mainly from Star Trek: "Spectre of the Gun" and Doctor Who: "The Gunfighters," neither of which did a particularly authentic version. (Oh, no, now I've gone and got that terrible song from "The Gunfighters" stuck in my head again.)

Anyone still watching? I know what this show reminds me of now -- Haven, only a much cheaper Haven, if that's even possible. Last night's villain had inexplicable superpowers, and the heroes had a solution they pulled out of thin air.

I think I am going to pass on this show. If I hear goods things later on, I might come back & give it a second look.

I've watched the first two or three (not sure), but I haven't seen this week's yet. It's okay. The setting is interesting and the cast is fine, and it's entertaining and a little sexy. The premise of the demons trying to break out of the "triangle" is interesting, but the demons themselves are not. They're just boring thugs. There's something missing from the mix,. I may or may not watch more episodes.

I've been enjoying it overall, but it's nothing amazing and pretty low on my list of modern fantasy shows I like. I keep falling asleep during the episodes, and then I just use the recaps to catch up on the bits I miss. As long as it's on I will continue watching it, but if it gets canceled I won't miss it.

Okay, I just watched all 8 episodes so far over the past week or so. For the most part, I've enjoyed it.

Great characters, especially Wynonna and Doc Holliday.

The villains didn't start off so great, as it seemed like just a bunch of trailer park biker gang thugs at first. But they've slowly gotten more interesting, especially with the arrival of the witch, and Jack was a pretty cool foe over the past week or two. And we haven't even seen Bobo go full bad guy yet. But yeah, thank goodness they seem to be getting away from the biker gang bad guys. The recent prohibition/fight club revenant was another step in the right direction. He at least had a different air about him.

The writing has been a bit hit or miss, and sometimes a character like Doc Holliday will seem to change motivations from episode to episode or even scene to scene. Dolls started out way too droll, but now that they've finally started to give him some background and backstory (for his organization), there's at least something interesting there. Doc Holliday seems to have stabilized too, now that we seem to know what happened to him, and who he's chasing after.

The wit plays a big part in the appeal of this show. I had to chuckle when Officer Haught (great name by the way!) mentioned that her cat didn't like men.

I think the writers know and respect their audience's knowledge too. Surely I wasn't the only one just waiting for Wynonna to say outloud "wiggle your big toe".

It's been shaky in parts, but I really do think this has been a pretty entertaining show overall.

I kinda forgot about this after the third episode. Maybe I'll check out some more episodes over the long weekend.

Watched the first two this weekend and had fun. It's not a must-see for me, but I'll probably keep watching.
I loved "Crazy chick with a gun!!!"

I'm enjoying it so far, to the extent that I more or less watch each week's episode in real time, as opposed to letting them gather dust on the DVR.

I like the credits and theme music too. "I told that devil to take you back . . . "
You tell 'em, Wynonna!

Oh yeah, I like that song too, but it always goes by in just a few seconds.

Here's the youtube version, apparently posted by the performer herself:

So, my DVR cut last nights ep off right before the end. Was there a last-minute twist in the final moment ('cause I'm pretty sure I see one coming).

I got up to the point where Bobo delivers his ultimatum and things are looking pretty bad for Wynonna ....

Wynonna tells Waverly to leave the party with Willa. However instead of that she decides it would be a good idea if she made out with Nicole. Of course Willa leaves and she meets up with Bobo outside. And they start walking down the street together (as if they're leaving town).

Oh and Wynonna, Dolls and Doc are getting ready to fight the crowd. ;)

Thanks! I kinda saw the Willa twist coming when she got her memories back, and guessed that my DVR had cut things off right before the big reveal.
