Spoilers Willow sequel series on Disney+

Nothing needs a sequel.

But I'm super excited for it. I recently watched it (again) and plan to in the near future, showing it to a friend who hasn't seen it.

It definitely doesn't feel as "big" as a modern fantasy epic but that's okay. It's still fun and the characters are absolutely great and it has good heart to it.

I'd take this over the dreary and dull Lord of the Rings any day. And I do!

One of my most prized autographs (one of my many vices) is meeting Kilmer (who was in great spirits despite his condition) at a local comicon 2 years ago and getting a Madmartigan print signed.

Haven't seen this movie in over 20 years. I'd have to watch it again to see if there's really needs a sequel.
I don't know if I'd say it needs a sequel, since it was standalone story that tied everything up at the end, but I don't think there was anything to prevent a sequel from being possible.

His reasons are very understandable, good for him!
With Ron Howard attached still, I bet they'll have no problems finding a replacement. Heck, wouldn't it be neat if he stepped in for the pilot episode! (Actually, his daughter has been pretty busy directing for Disney + of late... hmmm....)

I was honestly a little shocked Ron Howard wasn't the first episode's original director.

"No additional details about the series’ storyline have been released. According to circulated casting information for the series, it revolves around a group on a mission to save a kidnapped prince. The members of the team include Dove (Bamber), an unassuming kitchen maid who proves she is the “chosen one” as she embarks on the journey. She is joined by Kit (Cruz), the princess whose twin brother was abducted. Kit is destined to be a leader and ultimately the queen. Kellyman plays Jade, a servant who is Kit’s best friend and moral compass"

Not really blowing my skirt up in the possible story department. I have confidence in the show runners and writers, so I'm hopeful, but no details on Warwick himself and how he's going to be in it. That or Elora Dannon, if they take that direction.
I've read the 3 books that was a "Sequel" and it really focused on Willow and Elora. Was hoping the new series to be the same vein.
But the casting of 3 "normal" women, unknown if any would be an elf or brownie, but the descriptions seem to indicate Daikini's all of them. Which is a bit sad as I liked how the original film, and Lucas in general used little people in staring roles and was hoping for a more diverse main cast in that direction of a few more little people, hell have some Very tall like that 6'ft 9"in female model, I'm guessing that there isn't many staring rolls for that end of the spectrum either, except for makeup heavy stuff like Aliens or Predators.
But as said, I'm hopefull! Also hope they have talked to Lucas as well :)

I recently watched this film for the first time since it came out and I can't say I'm excited about a series. It's easier for me to see a Krull series continuation before Willow. We'll see.....

With Flash Thompson and Enfys Nest. And it just clicked with me that this is the second time that Warwick Davis and Erin Kellyman have worked together as they were both part of the Cloud Riders organization in Solo a Star Wars Story.

I don't have the nostalgic connection for this as others do. I can't remember if I ever seen Willow, maybe once when I was a kid. Definitely need to (re)watch it now because this trailer was really good.

I don't think I knew Kellyman was going to be in this so the moment I saw her pop up in this trailer, I broke out into a big grin. :D
