Will Luke and Ahsoka's first meeting ever be depicted at all?

Well... will it?

  • Of course! Maybe in Ahsoka S2, or in a flashback during the planned Mandoverse team-up movie/series.

  • Maybe in CG form, as an animated "Tales of the Jedi" short?

The first meeting between Luke and Ahsoka is a helluva thing, Canon-wise. In emotional terms, it must be a hugely important moment for the two characters, but that doesn't mean there's a particularly dramatic and exciting story to accompany it. And it's a big enough moment, and a significant enough part of Filoni's work and legacy, that I have a hard time picturing him let it be handled by a novel or comic... but CG Luke has proved controversial, and this would require more subtle acting than either of his CG appearances to date. (One wonders if the limitations of CG acting is indeed part of why that meeting hasn't been shown yet.)

For a while, I thought that, potential awkwardness aside, the scene would simply have to be shown somehow. (Imagine if The Avengers had started off with Tony, Cap, Thor, and Hulk all having been introduced!) But it doesn't seem likely that Luke and Ahsoka's paths will cross again in Ahsoka S2, so at this point, maybe it's not even worth the trouble? Or maybe it could be the focus of a CG special presentation, an animated mini-movie of whatever length (40 minutes? An hour? 90 minutes? Who knows?!), in which the big meeting takes place during an action story of some time, so it's not just two CG characters swapping stories over glasses of blue milk.

And, heck, maybe if Ahsoka dies and/or ascends to Mortis godhood at some point in S2 of her show, and never returns to the main universe in corporeal form, it'll come to be seen as a moot point, and never depicted. Or maybe Ahsoka will take a path through the World Between Worlds (where she'd give Rey her voice encouragement during the Exegol confrontation) to a point after TRoS, so she and Rey can be besties for Rey's New Jedi Order movie, with Luke a fading and irrelevant memory.

Or, heck, maybe Filoni will ultimately just shrug and let a novel or comic cover it. "Boring conversation anyway."

What do you all think?

Hm.....

I know a lot of fans would love them meeting during a fight or hunting down the same evil person of the episode.
I just want them to meet. Somehow, through the Force, they sense each other and are drawn to the same place. Doesn't need to be a huge epic location that's very famous in canon. Just, a place. And they meet. And talk. Luke learns a lot about Anakin from Ahsoka and new views on the Force. In all honesty, even though they are both powerful in the Force, with her decades of knowledge and experience in the Force but also her less dogmatic views on the Force, she should be able to give more nuance to Luke's views on what a Jedi should be, not what Yoda, Obi-Wan and the then Jedi Council thought.

And a sleepless night of wild and reckless pleasure follows?

I can't speak for everyone but I think there are plenty of people who still want to see it. The silence here is only indictive that some of us have already talked about this subject ad nauseum. We also know that Dave Filoli has a story in mind but is waiting for the right time to tell it. I don't have a source at hand because I'm too exhausted from illness and work, but I'm sure @Reverend or someone else will come up with something.

Isn't the age gap huge between Luke & Ahsoka?

How much older is Ahsoka vs Luke?

EDIT: I double checked, there is a 17 year age gap between Ahsoka & Luke.

Ahsoka is 17 years older than Luke.

So?

Just wait 'til you hear about the age gap between these two:

I know it's been discussed as an in-universe matter, but I figured enough time has passed since their Book of Boba Fett episode to wonder if/how the scene will ever be depicted at this point.

I kind of thought their meeting in The Mandalorian was their first meeting. (And also that there’d been a sleepless night.)

^ It could have been the latter part/the morning after their first meeting, I guess, but surely that would seem so... anticlimactic. :p

Somebody wrote a great fanfic years ago about Luke meeting Ahsoka shortly after ESB and having her finish his training. I may have seen it on youtube or something like that. Can't remember how it was titled, but it was pretty decent stuff.

I forgot that she was older, which makes it not nearly so bad.

(I'm used to thinking of Luke as an old man at the time of Last jedi and Ahsoka as barely a teenager)

Imagine how powerful Luke + Ahsoka's kids would be if they ever hooked up.
If they hooked up in a hypothetical S4 of "The Mandalorian", Luke would be 28-29 y/o while Ahsoka would be 45-46 y/o.

Well - that's kind of disturbing, yeah...

Anyway - the first meeting may occur in flashback, during the the Ahsoka show continuation... or it may be left to comics, or a novel. Time may tell.

(Or if Luke is going to be made... gay... now, which is mostly rumour)

In the meantime - possible shoutout to Tales from One Canon, on the Jedi Council Forums (where old and new SW characters are often brought together, in an increasingly merged timeline...) to which I have contributed somewhat.

That's not even a rumor. It's just more manufactured outrage. Mark Hamill told a fan that if that fan believed that Luke was gay, then Luke was gay and that it's all subjective to the individual. He didn't say that because this one fan decided that Luke was gay that Luke was gay.

So from jailbait to cougar.

Joking aside I would like to see more interaction between Luke and Ahsoka. She what the told each other about Anakin, the Jedi, Yoda, Obi-wan. She could tell look first hand about the Clone Wars, and have collaboration from Rex. See if Luke talked with Ahsoka about training Jedi when she took on Sabine. Stuff like that. I imagine some of Luke's training supplies came from Ahsoka's ship. There is so much there that could have happened, but we don't know how much was said or done.
