USS Titan-A seems like a perfectly fine starship to use as an explorer like the old Constitution-class starships.
That was basically what it already was. They essentially demoted the Enterprise name.

Dominion War attrition of older Galaxy-Class StarShips. Here's another of Matalas's questionable production choices. In order to appease some miniscule percentage of STO fans, Dave Blass chose the Ross class, an STO ship based on the Galaxy class but with 'Sovereignized modifications' as one of the new ships for season 2. But in-universe, I have no idea why a ship like this should exist. For one thing, it looks 90% like a Galaxy class starship already, to the point where if you saw one at a distance, you'd never be able to tell its not a Galaxy class. Also, why would Starfleet take an older design like the Galaxy class to use as a basis for the Sovereign, which looks nothing like the Galaxy class? Also, the Sovereign debuted in the 2370's, which means that the Ross class would have had to debut even before that. So why are so many Ross classes still in service in 2401 when the Galaxy class seemingly isn't?
It is technically, but the Neo-Constitution AKA Constitution III class. The Neo-Constitution-class seem more like going back to Starfleet's roots.
The Sovereign Class & Intrepid Class didn't have that many issues with their Warp Core designs.TWo warp cores, huh. I mean, how many times did the warp core come close to breaching/breached? Now imagine twice the trouble.
Two Engineers? One can handle both? Just look how much work Geordi had maintaining the ship -- he barely had tiem for holographic women that rejected him.
More power? Twice as many exploding panels? More powerful exploding panels?

While the Galaxy-Class was "Sovereign-nized", ergo the Ross-Class.
The Ross Class is a MUCH more powerful update to the Glaxy Class design.
1) She has Dual Warp Cores, the new Secondary Warp Core is in the Saucer.
That has MAJOR knock on effects because your Power Output is that much higher with 2x Warp Cores that means you can:
- have 'More Powerful Phasers'
- have 'More Powerful Shields'
- have 'Faster Warp Engines'
- have 'Redundant Power Sources'
- Saucer has it's own independent Warp Core when seperated, so the Saucer isn't useless.
2) All the tech that StarFleet has learned since Voyager returned + everything they've gained since the Dominion War has been included into "The Ross Class".
3) There were plenty of StarShip attrition due to the Dominion War, many Galaxy Classes are included in that.
It's easier to build new ships then repair old ones in many cases, also far faster.
4) StarFleet Upper Brass wants "Shiny New StarShip Class" to keep up-to-date, this way they don't get caught with their pants down like with the First Borg Encounter with the 'Battle of Wolf 359'.
5) Keeping up with the Technological Progress Tree gets you to be "more ready" when a unknown threat comes your way, which for the UFP & StarFleet, seems to happen quite frequently given how they explore all over the place and run into things.
6) Emergency Holographic Crew help make-up for any short-falls to the organic crew in terms of performance in Red Alert Situations.
We don't have Alpha Material to draw from, so take the Beta canon for what it is.None of which is canon, of course.

TC asked a question, we offered a answer.
If that isn't suitable, then I don't know what to tell ya.
Yeah..... thankfully non of that fanwank is remotely canon.Dominion War attrition of older Galaxy-Class StarShips.

It's silly that the control panels explode, that's one of those dumb things I want fixed.
Many of those STO ships weren't canon, until they did become canon by appearing on screen.Yeah..... thankfully non of that fanwank is remotely canon.
What's wrong with "Fat People"?I know, I know, but sometimes we as fans expect too much from the made-up 23rd/24th/25th centuries that have fat people, bald people, thick computer screens, and the need to fake drink synthahol.
I can come up with plenty of things to explode. If nothing exploded, nothing blew, and there were no real issues, it would be pretty boring.

Hopefully, the writing Trek Writing Staff will canonize some more of the Beta-Canon material and turn Fan Wank into reality once again.
For now.And only those ships, and no other information about them other than their names, classes and registry numbers, or anything else in STO, is canon.
The Intrepid Class became legendary? Where was that stated? Didn't we see like a total of 3* of them throughout the entire franchise?Kind of like how the Intrepid Class has become a Legend in it's own right, and it's descendents will be updated versions of that design.
The only thing that is canon is that they exist and what they look like. That's it.Many of those STO ships weren't canon, until they did become canon by appearing on screen.
Dear God, I hope not.Hopefully, the writing Trek Writing Staff will canonize some more of the Beta-Canon material and turn Fan Wank into reality once again.
The USS Voyager became a proper museum. It was shown in Lower Decks that it became a museum. The Intrepid Class became legendary? Where was that stated? Didn't we see like a total of 3* of them throughout the entire franchise?
That's how it starts. The only thing that is canon is that they exist and what they look like. That's it.
Why do you hate on STO and it's lore?Dear God, I hope not.
For now.
I don't know what you have against STO vessels and it's lore?
Which is a Saucer w/o the neck, fully integrated into the StarDrive. The general shape of the Intrepid-class seems to live on in the various starships named USS Voyager (A, B, and J)
