Who's the more attractive Yeoman?

Do we need to consider only the original two or all of those proposed?

Well, I can't speak for the OP, but this thread (like many on this board) is a "living and evolving" thread, which seems to have evolved past the original two choices (for which I am partially to blame for seconding the Yeomen Smith nomination a few days ago)...

...To be fair to the OP, maybe you should give your Colt/Rand choice first, then add your own if you want.

I never gave my preference regarding the Colt/Rand question, but I gotta go with Colt -- but then again I was always a "Mary Ann, not Ginger" kind of guy.

Have you ever seen the classic cold-war comedy The Russians are Coming, The Russians are Coming? That actress (Andrea Dromm) played Carl Reiner's Nanny, Alison. She looked good in that film, too.

I have seen that movie, yes. And I agree, Andrea Dromm did look good. Yeoman Smith gets my vote as most attractive yeoman, hands down.

I love spunky girls in ponytails, so I'd definately pick Colt. ;)

How come nobody mentioned Yeoman Mears, one of "The Galileo Seven?" She was the typical TOS Starfleet woman; competent, intellegent, strong, and never screamed in fear like most women of the 60's were required to do. And she was really pretty, too. ;)

You're absolutely right -- Mears is among my top 3 Star Trek girls of all time. However, I mistakenly remembered her as being an Ensign, not a Yeoman.

Thanks for setting me straight.

By the way, here's a bit of trivia on the actress Phyllis Douglas: as a 3-year old, she was in Gone with the Wind as Scarlett O'hara's and Rhett Butler's toddler daughter, "Bonnie Blue Butler".

More from Memory Alpha:

Phyllis Douglas (born 24 July 1936; age 71) is an actress who played Yeoman Mears in TOS: "The Galileo Seven". She also appeared as a girl in TOS: "The Way to Eden".
Douglas made her feature acting debut at the age of three in the epic classic Gone With the Wind, although she was not credited for her work. She later appeared (again, without credit) in the film Raintree County, which also featured DeForest Kelley (Leonard McCoy from TOS). In 1959's Girls Town she played the character Eleanor alongside Elinor Donahue. She also appeared in two episodes of Batman.
Douglas has since retired from acting and currently sells recreational vehicle lots in Palm Springs, California.

She was played by Phyllis Douglas, and like many TOS guest stars, pulled double-duty when it came to being a "supporting character." She appeared in "The Way to Eden" as the brunette hippie, sporting an adorable ponytail (yeah, I have a thing for those XD ) and showing off her awesome legs!!

Wow...I always found Yeoman Mears very attractive, but not the hippie girl. I guess I'm a lot more fickle than I thought.

Indeed! I never knew that was the same actress in both roles!

Someone will tell me whether they were dancing the swim?
I think they were!!

Nah...maybe it was just the hairstyle that you preferred over the other. :)

Shows she's good at what she did!! Too bad she didn't have any more starring roles... :(

To define the playing field a little, here's a list of the twelve yeomen who were identified as such during the original series' run:

Janice Rand (Grace Lee Whitney): First half of first season
Smith (Andrea Dromm): "Where No Man Has Gone Before"
Tina Lawton (Patricia McNulty): "Charlie X"
Theresa Ross (Venita Wolf): "The Squire of Gothos"
Mears (Phyllis Douglass): "The Galileo Seven"
Tonia Barrows (Emily Banks): "Shore Leave"
Tamura (Miko Mayama): "A Taste of Armageddon"
Zahara (Maurishka): "Operation Annihilate"
Doris Atkins (Carolyn Nelson): "The Deadly Years"
Tancris (Judy McConnell): "Wolf in the fold"
Martha Landon (Celeste Yarnell): "The Apple"
Leslie Thompson (Julie Cobb): "By Any Other Name"

WOW!! Did you write that from information in your head, or did Memory Alpha help you out at all? Either way it's impressive that you were able to get all that. Bravo!! :techman:

It's like we could have a calendar of yeomans.
Dude...that is GENIUS!! Seriously, someone should photoshop that!! Yeoman Mears should be August. Dunno why, she just looks like an August.

Smith should DEFINATELY be July, in reference to her "Summer Blonde" Clairol ad campaign of the 60's. :techman:

We reach.
:guffaw::guffaw:

My sides still hurt. That is totally epic!

I noticed your display picture, too...do you have a larger version of that?

Back to what we were discussing earlier, about the Yeoman Calender: seriously guys, let's do it! The "Blue Warp Nacelles" thread turned into a weird photoshop project that swept all of teh interwebz, so why not do our own project? Do I hear any agreements?

First off, we should probably decide which yeoman goes in which month. Thus far, I think we've decided on three:

January - Janice Rand (Grace Lee Whitney)
February - Undecided
March - Undecided
April - Undecided
May - Undecided
June - Undecided
July - Smith (Andrea Dromm)
August - Mears (Phyllis Douglas)
September - Undecided
October - Undecided
November - Undecided
December - Undecided

Of course, if anyone wants to contest those placements, or has any other suggestions, feel free to speak up. This IS a group project (hopefully)!! Pure coincidence that the yeoman list kindly provided by ToddPence just happened to supply 12 yeomen. :)
