Whither the Habs?

I guess they figure they would play like they're 100 years old to commemorate this aniversary. That's sure how they played yeaterday! Pathetic.

:wtf: Who woulda thunk? They take Boston 5-1.

Maybe the ceremony and the presence of all those veterans of past glory instilled some measure of shame in the current Habs squad and motivated them to get their asses in gear. They were still sloppy at times, but at least there was some energy there for a change and a bit more than a modicum of desire.

I only have 2 words: Mike Cammalleri! What a player! The only drawback is knowing that he signed here just to play with Gomez who's doing nothing so Cammalleri is costing us 14 millions right now...

Cammelleri should be named Captain. He sets the right example.

Go figure. Yesterday Ottawa outplays the Habs for much of the game--and if not for Halek it may well have been a route--yet somehow they manage to win the damned game. Go figure.

The real test is tonight. If they can manage to win against Pittsburg, they can do anything. And it looks like Markov may come back earlier than expected. He's already training without any restraints. Rumor has it that he'll start again between Christmas and new year's eve.

They really tried against Pittsburgh. But honestly I really think they were robbed of a goal. That really looked looked like it went in the net just before the whistle.

I wonder if any player has ever taken a run at a ref.

The ref blew his whistle too early. That said, your second goal was off a bullshit penalty, so it all evens out in the end.

Poor Price. He gave the best performance against the Pens of his career, only to blow it with his glove hand as usual.

For what it's worth, I was saying the same about the Leafs and the Bruins tonight...

I still think Montreal will be in the playoffs this season, especially if Markov comes back in the next month.

Whatever good the Habs accomplished is being completely undermined by the parade of useless, stupid penalties. Jacques Martin used to have a disciplined squad when he coached the Sens, but that obviously isn't happening with his current team.

If the Habs don't watch out their arch rival Toronto could actually overtake them.

What a road trip!

The Habs can't play sixty minutes of decent hockey. They still take dumb penalties. They have a crazy style of play that looks as if the opposition are making them run around :wtf: and yet the Habs come out on top. They end up with a six-for-seven road record and 12 out of 14 points.

Go fucking figure.

Halak was good. He should be number one and if anyone gets traded for something decent in return it should be Price.
