When did Jake lose his virginity?

DS9Continuing

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
We know he dated Mardah the dabo girl around the time of mid-third season. And I believe he had another Bajoran girlfriend in the seventh season. But do we know he did the deed with either of them?

Obviously the subject was never brought up on the show. But do we assume that he was normal, healthy teenage male with the normal, healthy urges, and he did what a normal, healthy teenage male would do when confronted with a willing dabo girl? (A hetero teenage male, at least).

And in that case, do we assume that he told his dad, and that everything was discussed off screen, and no big deal was ever made of it, just another milestone in a growing man's life?

Or do we see him as a gentleman who wouldn't do it with a short-term girl but would wait for "the one" ? Meaning he was still a virgin at show's end?

In the DS9-novels...

...Jake sleeps with and later marries Rena, the same girl he married in the alternate future of "The Visitor." And while he did sleep with her on the first night, it seems it wasn't just for the purposes of getting his rocks off, but because he already knew he really really liked her. Also, the scene is written from Rena's POV, so we don't have Jake's internal monologue to tell us whether it was his first time or not.

So... when did Jake become a man?

I once heard a rumour of an off camera Bashir - Garak - Jake - Nog gay romp around the third season. Klingon pain sticks, phasers on low stun. . .that sort of thing.

Why would you worry about a fictional character's love life? :wtf:

That's kind of weird, dude...
Nog and Jake were very close, just how close we may neverknow.

I think at the end of Ds9 Jake was still a virgin, just given that he was kind of dorky and kept to himself. He wasn't in starfleet so would you rather ask out a Starfleet Ensign or a Civillian reporter?

I liked Jake Sisko but I doubt he was very good at getting the ladies.

The guy was going out with some pretty sexy chicks when he looked like he was 14 so i assume he wasn't a virgin.

Doesn't matter how much sex the Jake character might've had, he never became a MAN.

What a stone age notion to think one is only a MAN because of sex.

His actions as a journalist and a secret resistance fighter against the Dominion occupation of DS9 certainly qualify him as a man.

I'm pretty sure Jake lost his virginity to Marta, the dabu girl he dated for quite awhile.

I think its funny that in season 1, Commander Sisko told Jake that Nog was older than him, and had probably "done things with women you're not yet ready for." But while Nog probably fooled around with holograms, I doubt he saw any true action until Starfleet Academy.

Amen and amen.

First, he WAS very young at the start of the series.

And secondly, why is it so shocking or somehow a black mark against him to think he might be a virgin?

Only because this is Star Trek, and they don't cover that sort of story much. Other shows put more emphasis on those storylines....sometimes to their detriment.

Nog was getting his lobes rubbed at birth:scream:

It depends on what you rank sex with holograms as, whether it counts as real sex or is just an extension of masturbation. I think it was in Voyager that Tuvok and Paris talked about sex with holograms and whether it was cheating on your partner or not. They were of the mind that it was but got around it because they used a hologram of Tuvok's wife, which sort of means it is not exactly like masturbation.

Sex with holograms is likely in a category of its own, much more than masturbation but still not actual physical sex with another person.

A lot of issues would involve the privacy of creating holograms that look (and feel) exactly like other people without their permission. Deep Space Nine got it right that, rather than relaxing Sherlock Holmes Adventures, the holodeck would primarily be used for sex and other erotic adventures.

On the Enterprise, any officer seemed able to call up a hologram of a fellow crewman, but on Deep SPace Nine Quark found it near impossible to recreate Kira as a hologram, and after clumsy attempts with a limited holo-camera failed, resorted to breaking into the station's medical records to get her...ahem...measurements.

Is sex with a hologram real sex? No. But I doubt your husband/wife of the 24th century would be too pleased with you engaging in it.

It is possible that on DS9, prior to his Academy days (and prior to his moral reform) Nog engaged in illicit sexual acts with softcore prostitution. I'm sure paying a hot alien babe to rub his ears was easily covered by his earnings from working at the bar.

But I doubt Nog made it so far as actual intercourse until he reached Starfleet Academy, made some real friends, and maybe hooked up with an open minded female cadet that liked him for his personality.

Although, to be fair, I think they implied Nog was not Mr. Popular at the Academy, and in the Visitor the future Captain Nog implied his relationships with Federation females was luke-warm, jokingly saying it improved once he stopped asking them to chew his food for him...but there was a sadness to his tone that maybe hinted Nog just wasn't going to be getting a lot of love or action.

Jake definetly lost his virginity before Nog, which is often the case. The shy, sensitive, poetic heart actually goes further faster than the loud and boastful older child.

Interesting. I wonder how the 24th-century lawbooks define adultery -- with organic people, or whether holograms also count. Would a woman be more offended if her husband cheated on her with real women or with holographic women?

As if a Starfleet Ensign would have a patch on the son of the Emissary.

The ladies love a poet. Remember, Jake might have worked as a reporter, but he also wrote poetry.

If he wan'ts to attract a Bajoran sure.

I loved when he had a crush on Ezri Dax and his father told him she was too old for him:rommie:
