I realize we're exposed to more than the ones listed in this poll, but I tried to recall all the different species we're exposed to at least more than once. Which is your favorite and why?

Woo hoo! I'm the first vote!
I love Shran! I really enjoyed how his relationship progressed with Archer. I liked how he questioned his conscience in Proving Ground, resulting in him clandestinely transmitting info about the Xindi weapon. And then how he assisted in the final battle. There are so many great scenes with him, I could go on....:)

That being said, I developed an affinity for the Xindi , Degra. Had he lived, I'm sure he would have been a strong ally - a man of principal.

Good poll, JadziaDax :):)

I'm just glad this poll hasn't been done before!

I'm with you on both. I'm still debating which species to choose because if it weren't for Shran, I'm not sure I'd care much for the Andorians. However, I absolutely LOVE his character and that kind of spills over to the rest of 'em. Jeffrey Combs is amazing in all of his roles, and Shran is no exception. Shran is so torn - his allegiance to the Imperial Guard placing him at odds with his fondness for Captain Arch. This just makes him all the more intriguing.

I enjoy the Xindi because they are so varied. The concept of six different species with similar DNA developing on the same home world and being able to communicate with each other is pretty damn cool. I kind of wish there were an episode that focused mainly on their past and the development of each species but I suspect most Star Trek watchers might not enjoy that as much as me. Degra was an interesting character, and I was upset when he died. I wish he had stayed on because I'd taken quite a liking to him, especially after he realized what was going on.

I'm definitely a fan of Dr. Phlox but I really disliked Feeza (I think that was his wife's name?). I also still haven't forgiven Phlox for his actions in "Dear Doctor." As a result, I don't think I could go with Denobulans.

I considered including the Xyrillians in this poll but then I realized I'd have to include every other once-off alien species, of which there far too many. Still, Trip's pregnancy was quite funny!

I found the Xindi fascinating and they come with their own long dead race! Really cool idea, thought it was very well done. The animosities and dependance between the varying kinds of Xindi. I voted for them because there was some nice originality there.

Denobulans I'm super fond of and I want to go to Denobula. I love Phlox, I love their poly marriages and intricate relationships and curiosity. But I voted Xindi on the originality front.

I like the Andorians Shran is a terrific character and it was nice to see how the Andorian culture was explored in the series. I also like the xindi too.

I had to vote Denobulan because I like Phlox so much, but I also found the Xindi and the Suliban interesting.

The Xindi arc showed that non-humanoid characters could be done convincingly, and the idea of a race that has separated into 5 species is interesting. The humanoids were basically just human, though, the Reptilians were fairly two-dimensional in character, and the Arboreals did nothing but round out the numbers.

The Suliban were interesting not just because they were artificially enhanced, but because they had done a "deal with the devil" to get those enhancements from an unknown party. The revelation that the Suliban were a homeless people living a precarious existence gave them a lot of potential depth that unfortunately was not explored further after Detained.

It would've been awesome to see the Xindi-Avians in action. Too bad they went extinct. :( I have to agree in regard to the Xindi-Reptilians. To me, they were portrayed as your typical reptilian bad guys. I feel like I've seen that kind of villain too many times in my television viewing experience. It's too bad Enterprise got cancelled as then we might have seen their evolution into more varied characters. It reminds me a bit of how Klingons were portrayed in the days of TOS. Now we've seen different types of Klingons (scientists, engineers, doctors, etc.). I also wished we saw more of the Xindi-Aquatics as they were my favorite. I have a thing for marine mammals though sooo.

Where are the Vulcans? And the Klingons?

I was mostly going for alien species that we either see for the first time in Enterprise or that we see more of than in other series. These were the ones that came to mind immediately.

If ENT hadn't been cancelled, once thing I would love to have seen is how Xindi and Suliban would have been involved in the Romulan war. They might not necessarily have been on "our" side, but it would be interesting to see the Suliban as commando infiltrators in a full-on war, and more of those huge X Aquatic battleships going into battle.

At a guess, I would say the Xindi would be with the Federation (if they weren't in a civil war), but if the Romulans promised the Suliban a new homeworld, they might well choose the other side.

Oh yeah, the Romulans would promise it but I can't imagine them delivering on that promise. Maybe that's just my intense dislike of the Romulans shining through though. :P

The Xindi-Aquatic ships are my absolute favorite ships in all of Trek. I would LOVE any excuse to see them in action again.

I'm glad Vulcans aren't in this poll as ENT contains my favorite Vulcan ever and my infatuation <--polite word, may have made me tick that little box.

Yeah it'd skew the poll results even worse than they already are if I included Vulcans. People love the shit out of Vulcans as it is.

No love for the protocol obsessed Kreetassans it looks like, and their precious Alvera trees.

What if someone came into your apartment Melakon and PEED into your pot(ted) plant? What if it wasn't your own cat but some foreign ugly cat?

You'd be mad, you'd be mad as heck.

Easily the Andorians. The Andorian story arc was the best part of the earlier Enterprise seasons.
