What kind of Foot Wear should StarFleet Officers need?

Kamen Rider Blade

I know that if you don't design good & proper foot wear for your Officers/Soldiers, when it comes time to encounter hardships, your foot wear can cause major issues for your people.
France had the worst Boots for WW1 & WW2.

WW1 had Trench Foot, that was a major issue.

Given that we know StarFleet Officers can find themselves in who knows what kind of crazy situations, what do you think the average Foot Wear a StarFleet Officer would need?
Especially since they have to prepare for the unknown.

I know John Fluevog has some collab boots for ST:SNW as a form of official merchandising.

But what features do you think the average StarFleet Officer would need in their foot wear?

I definitely think it should be High-End boots, one that goes up mid-way up the shins, half way in between the knee & ankle.

- Definitely some form of Metal/Heavy Polymer Protection Material in the Toe/Heel / base of the foot to prevent your feet from getting Crunched or Punctured by random objects.
- You need to prevent moisuture or water from getting in.
- Some Radiation Protection if possible.
- Good at maintaining temperature, regardless of environmental factors.
- Great for long term walking comfort.
- Chemical Warfare Resistance (Extra Resistance against a wide variety of acids; Thanks to Blssdwlf for the idea).

What else do you folks think StarFleet needs to include in their standardized foot wear?

So we just going to pretend Spock's rocket-boots aren't a thing? :p

With CG, they now just nano-bot right onto your feet.
Like people wouldn't be wearing and just hovering all over the place.
And they likely protect against all that environmental crap on that check list.

Isn't that more of a "Side-Tool" than a primary gear thing?

You're not going to wear that every-day while at work.

It's a tool for if you're on recreation or out in the field and need to cross great vertical or horizontal heights.

Special nano-fiber/fabric that adapts to the user and the environment.
That sounds very expensive for the VFX department.

Why? Just get a cool looking boots from Hot Topic and drop a line about the nanofiber adapting to the atmosphere within the asteroid....

The Nano-Fiber/Fabric is a throw-away line.

But if it adapts to the environment, you usually want to show it doing something.
Otherwise if it sits there not changing, how do you show the adaptation w/o CG VFX or Practical Effects?

Why add to the VFX budget when a simple line does it for free? Add a blinky light if you need a visual.

From MA
All uniforms of this era were made of an organic, algae-derived fabric called xenylon. (TAS: "The Terratin Incident") In addition, they had built-in temperature controls to accommodate for cold weather environments. For example, upon beaming down to the surface of Sigma Draconis VI, Captain Kirk instructed his landing party to set their "suit temperatures to 72[° Fahrenheit]." (TOS: "Spock's Brain")
I assume footwear would also be adjustable.

Honestly, the TOS and ENT service boots look to be the most comfortable and best-looking of all the Trek footwear, at least when it comes to Starfleet footwear. The TNG/DS9/VOY boots would come third.

I can't remember - were the boots in TOS off-the-rack from Western Costume, or did they have those custom-made for the principal and recurring cast?

The shoes the Ferengi "Great Sages" wear in "False Profits(VOY)" are pretty heinous, but then they are Ferengi. And living on a pre-industrial planet they're manipulating by pretending to be figures of local mythology.
