Bad trekkie.No, I don't think so.
Dang it.Bad trekkie.
It was mentioned. Saru refers to the Voyager and the Enterprise in "Stormy Weather". He doesn't say which Voyager and Enterprise, but still.
I've also leaned towards there's no Enterprise in the 32nd Century. I don't think there's been an Enterprise post-Burn at all. I think the Enterprise symbolizes what Starfleet used to be and is trying to get back to. I think a new Enterprise would symbolize that Starfleet is completely back on its feet. I don't think they'll get there before the end of Discovery. What we haven't had is any indication there is a current Enterprise in the 32nd century. I've speculated there might not be and that Voyager is now Starfleet's flagship. At the very least, Voyager must be one hell of a prestigious posting if the Federation President is personally responsible for selecting its Captain.
Here's hoping.I completely agree with both of you. I’d be totally fine if, after 900 years, which, granted we don’t get to see, they gave the Enterprise name a rest. And I like the idea of Voyager being the new flagship. After what the crew of Janeway’s Voyager went through to get back to the Alpha Quadrant, it seems an appropriate name for the flagship post-Burn.
Just don’t rename Discovery the Enterprise in the final episode.

Rename it Titan THEN rename it Enterprise. One in each part of the 2-part finale.Rename it Titan.
I think if there is a new Enterprise in the 32nd-Century, she shouldn't be a continuation of the NCC-1701 legacy. I believe there will always be an Enterprise--either in service, in the works, or even just sitting in a museum--but the NCC-1701 registry probably should have been retired long before the Burn, IMO, maybe before it even reached NCC-1701-Z.
All that being said, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if we do see the Enterprise-Z pop up somewhere in the finale...
There's nothing wrong with having 6- or even 7-digit hull registries because they're really not supposed to be all that terribly important to audiences, IMO. Had the producers of Star Trek IV a different idea about the second Starship Enterprise, they could have simply given that ship NCC-1701 (no suffix), and that would have been the tradition for subsequent ships with the name. In an early "finished" render of the Enterprise-J (which was later used for the Eaglemoss miniature model), she was seen simply with just NCC-1701 (again, no suffix) on her hull.Honestly, I kind of like the idea that 32nd century Starfleet has realized that 6 digit registries are kind of silly, and have gone back to 4-digit registries to recycle the numbers (i.e. the USS Credence NCC-2604), so if we saw a new Enterprise, I would love for it to have an NCC-1701 registry.
