Warner Bros. Circling David Ayer for DC Comics’ ‘Suicide Squad’

That's pretty good. It was put together by Kate Willaert.

Deadshot and Slipknot are the only two of those that have better costumes in the movie compared to their first costumes in my opinion, although Deadshot's modern comic costume is better than the movie's look.

I think El Diablo is the least impressive of the movie versions, but maybe he'll change clothes.

Do we know yet if this is going to be PG-13? The vibe I got from the trailer feels like something you'd see for a R movie, but being a big superhero movie I could see them keeping it at a tamer PG-13

It hasn't been rated yet. There's a lot of speculation that it might go for an R rating, but no confirmation of that as there has been for the Deadpool movie. There's also speculation that it might get a "hard" PG-13. Sometimes the distinction between the two is barely significant -- a few less curse words, a few seconds of gore trimmed.

Perhaps hard PG-13 for the theatrical realse and later an unrated DVD version...

If I were to pick one I'm disappointed in, it's Enchantress. I'm not saying use her original costume (there are more modern adaptations), but what the hell is that? She looks like something from the Grudge.

Joker actually makes an earlier appearance in the trailer than his big reveal at the end. He can be seen at 2:14 in the trailer walking through an industrial building in full makeup with a man in a suit:

I still don't care for the metal teeth and tattoos but I like Leto's Joker voice and delivery. I think he'll be very good.

Initial shots made me think that the look of the film would be very different from MOS and BvS but the trailer seemed very much in keeping with the former and what we've seen of the latter. The line about Superman bringing the various villains out of the darkness reminded me also of the themes of escalation discussed in The Dark Knight.

Well, as various comedic fan edits online have shown, you can easily make a trailer with a completely different tone than the movie itself has. I think the norm these days is to do multiple trailers with different tones and emphases to try to reach different audiences. So we'll probably get a later trailer with more action and one-liners.

That trailer has a lot of shots that resemble specific scenes from Batman: Assault on Arkham. Anyone know if that was intentional? While I liked that movie, I hope this one goes somewhere different.

Also at 1:35 and 2:18 it looks like we get a flashback of the Joker....indoctrinating Harley. It looks like he attacks where she is working (Arkham?) and ties her down.

Actually I thought it did feel pretty distinct from those. Despite the comic book elements it felt to me much more like a trailer for some weird, twisted crime caper than a typical superhero movie.

Although I'm really loving the style for both of these movies. I know it's not for everyone, but to me they just come across SO much more bold and interesting than the safe and formulaic Marvel movies we get every year, that are completely lacking in any kind of edge whatsoever.

Probably more just a case of convergent evolution. Different writers working with the same characters and concepts and trying to structure them in the same format are likely to hit upon some of the same ideas even with no knowledge of each other's work. Also, both movies adapt characters and elements from the comics, so they may be borrowing some of the same things.

This is one of my biggest hesitations with the movie. I understand the Joker/Harley relationship has always been kind of twisted and possibly even violent, but I really hope they don't take it to far in the movie.

I really liked it. I know these are just trailers but I think DC is on the right track. I personally loved MoS and all the feelings I had from those trailers I have watching the BvS trailers and now SS. :)
