The beginning of MCU phase four approaches with the upcoming release of WandaVision on Disney+!
Of course, WandaVision wasn't supposed to lead off Phase four, but the Covid-related delays to the release of Black Widow and the completion of Falcon and Winter Soldier have made it so.
Starring Elizabeth Olson and Paul Bettany as Wanda Maximoff and the Vision, WandaVision also features the return of Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis (Thor, Thor: The Dark World) and Randal Park as Jimmy Woo (Ant-Man and the Wasp). WV introduces to the MCU Teyona Parris as Monica Rambeau (replacing Akira Akbar, who played Monica as a child in Captain Marvel) and Kathrine Hahn as a character strongly suspected to be Agatha Harkness, which would make her the first of the newly aquired characters from FOX to appear in the MCU. Monica, and perhaps Woo, will be working with SWORD, a sister agency of SHIELD that monitors threats from space.
Described as classic sitcoms meet MCU spectacle, with the trailer having numerous easter eggs from sitcoms of decades past, WandaVision is essentially part one of a trilogy. WandaVision is the beginning of a story that moves onto the upcoming Loki series on Disney+ and concludes in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, which will co-star Olson.
