Spoilers Walking Dead Season 8 discussion and spoilers.

Thing is, it would be so out of character for Jesus to go with the plans that Maggie is engaging in, he should never have been in that meeting to begin with. The whole thing is just bad writing and wrong at so many levels.

Yeah that is also a issue. Sometimes we wonder why Jesus would go to that meeting but you also got to wonder why Maggie would let him go to that meeting. She should know Jesus might not be cool with her plan. Why would she trust him on that level? Only thing I can think of is she isn't thinking that any of this stuff might lead to them to trying to kill RIck. Perhaps she thinks she can move him out of the way in a more peaceful manner. Even if she implies they might have to kill RIck and Michonne she doesn't in her mind really think what she is doing will lead to that which to me is kind of naive but since RIck is family and she is thinking more along the lines of Revenge on Neegan then that seems like that is something that can cloud a person's logic.

Exactly. This whole storyline is quite suspect, IMO. I really hope they can unfuck this dumpster fire and that all this has a purpose, but I'm just not seeing how it can end well. I like TWD and give it a wide berth when it comes to some silly things, but I think they are really treading danger-close to shark territory.

Bored with humans fighting humans over silly things. About time they figured out what's going on with this zombie nonsense.

Agreed! TWD needs a new direction if it wants to survive. I'd like to see a season where they discover some kind of hope, e.g. a fortified scientific lab that has survived and is making headway in fighting the outbreak (similar to the CDC subplot of season 1). That might also explain the helicopter.

But this tired trope of "humans are worse than Zombies" wore thin about 3 seasons ago -- and now we have two shows running with it! Geez. Get some new ideas.

Plus, the Maggie character is smart enough to realize that him joining with her in this fashion is SO out of character that she should smell something fishy right out of the gate.

You guys say it is out of ccharacter...but I think he doesn't force his personal ethics on others but is open to persuading potential converts.

I mean he is totally cool with the war and his comrades using guns to kill people.

Now he know quite a bit of Morgan and presumably some thing of his path to peace... So if he talk talk "sense" to someone he will.

But if he has to let othera to some things we won't...he gives them that choice..to a ppont

My biggest issue with the scene was the glint of murder in Jesus' eyes, when he gleefully whispered "yes", complete with a toothy predatory smile, in response to Maggie's desire to start a civil war and take out Rick and Michonne. They just finished an extremely lengthy and costly war that took many hundreds of lives and they should be getting about the business of rebuilding, not starting yet another idiotic war.

Sorry, it's just plain wrong and, yes, completely out of character.

He's probably playing her--just keeping up the face of solidarity only to monitor her moves. He will probably step in before Maggie accidentally or deliberately kills anyone, Negan will escape and as a result of Maggie's murderous actions, will get a key character killed. If the showrunners want to break expectations, Rick and Michonne will survive, but another main character will fall. Try Daryl.

Sooo....some good news today, in my opinion, anyway:
Chris Hardwick returns to Talking Dead.

I am VERY pleased to hear this, since his joyful, nerdy enthusiasm made me really enjoy Talking Dead--and make me like The Walking Dead even more. It seemed (to me, anyway) that he got a pretty raw deal by being so quickly blacklisted based on such thin, unsubstantiated claims from a known liar.

I guess this is good if he wasn't guilty of some of the worst stuff I heard. I kind of lost track of the story. Tried to use that link but it wouldn't connect me to the Variety story.

^ The story is being carried by most of the trades. From the sounds of it, AMC did a pretty thorough investigation of the matter. To me, it reads "after a thorough review, the call is overturned'.

It was announced today that Scott Wilson (Hershel) and Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) would also be making appearances in season 9 in addition to Jon Bernthal (Shane).

Then later on news broke that Scott Wilson had passed away. :(

I just heard. I've never seen him on "The Walking Dead". But I do remember him from the 1974 movie, "The Great Gatsby". He portrayed the mechanic, George Wilson.

Sad to hear about Scott Wilson, but the news that all these dead characters returning seems to me that we're going to get flashback filler to pad out the season while not much is happening to drive the plot forward.

It could also be that they're all in one scene. A scene where Rick is dying and he's seeing them all.

Sad to learn of Scott Wilson's passing on. He seemed to be a genuinely nice person, and had a very solid, memorable career.

Probably, or teases for what must happen to Rick and/or Maggie by the end of 9A..

That's my thought at this point.
I just finished watching Season 8, and I really enjoyed it. Some interesting twists and turns, and the war with the Saviors brought out some interesting conflicts, but from within and outside the groups.
