Voy-A crewmembers erased from time: gone for good?

In S2, some of the Voyager-A crew got whacked by those time monsters and "erased from time." I kept waiting for them to "come back" at the end of the season, but nope, no mention. Does this mean they're just erased forever? I get they're just background extras, but still. What if it had been someone important from the VOY cast or the Prodigy cast? Oblivion?

Seems like they're just gone at the end, never existed.

If it had been someone like Janeway getting erased I imagine the effect would've been fairly devastating to the timeline, as Star Trek: Voyager would've happened very differently. Even if the ship's captain got them back home like Janeway did, they wouldn't have had Admiral Janeway's help, so they would've arrived years after Prodigy took place. Chakotay wouldn't have commanded the Protostar, Holo Janeway wouldn't have existed, the Dauntless wouldn't have been built... in fact the Protostar might not have been built either! That would've really thrown a wrench into their plans to put the ship back where it was supposed to be.

It's similar to Captain Braxton's massive weapon in "Year of Hell", one zap and you never existed. There's no coming back.

It's flawed if you think about it though... how far back does it go? What happens to Dad's sperm and Mum's egg? Is it the moment of fertilisation, before that when the sperm/egg are generated or does it go further and the whole family line vanish?

Flaws aside, I love the concept, and like to think other Trek shows had extra main characters who fell to these creatures so nobody remembers them. Voyager kind of played with this idea in "Latent Image", kind of implying we were seeing the show until now through the Doctor's edited memories.

I'm curious about how something like that would play out.

We know that in Trek, the timeline WILL very much attempt to "fix itself".

Losing somebody like a Janeway would alter the timeline so significantly that I feel like somehow, someway, time itself would get to trying to sort that out.

Depends on who's writing. In most of Trek's time travel stories, the heroes have to fix time or the bizarro world alternate timeline remains permanent. Which episodes did you feel like time tried to fix itself? I cannot think of one, but then there's like a thousand episodes now.

If so, then that has some unsettling implications about some people's lives just being consideted more important to the timeline than others. Because part of the heroes' motives was trying to save Gwyn from exactly that fate.

However, when the timeline was "fixed" at the end, it was stated that all of the temporal fissures (or whatever) were now gone, implying a fully repaired timeline. If so, then presumably those erased Crewmen were also restored.

The loom didn't just erase people from time, they consumed beings and every aspect of their temporal existence for nourishment. Those people did come back but as Loom time-poop probably.
