Underworld: Was Kraven a Hero?

Kraven, as noted, is no hero.
Not even in the delusional sense that he sees his own actions as noble even if others don't type self-identity.

He was a power hungry, ladder climbing ass who'd do what it took to get ahead and not get caught. Which is really why I could go for a second prequel that lays out a juicer story of the deal he made to be seen as a "hero". Afterall, Selene was around then so Kate's star power could be utilized to tell this story. It also could tie Tanis back in as well since this is around when Kate had him imprisoned in that secluded fortress with lycan guards if memory serves.

In the extended cut of the first film there is a long-ish closeup of a page in one of the books Selene is reading which show the 3 Elder seals, but read "Amelia, 24" "Viktor, 25" and "Marcus, 26" the page opposite is too out of focus to see but seems to be a table of names, numbering around 26.

The original idea was Viktor's "14 centuries" of the chain, Lucian's brand has "Viktor, 7" indicating the 7th century of the chain, which works out as Viktor's reign in Rise of the Lycans.

But, Underworld Evolution shows the leap frogging began in 1202, Rise of the Lycans show no brands at all, and Marcus' rule from 2002-2101 would have been the 15th reign even if the 14 was right. So how could a 200 year old book be talking about a 26th reign, which would be 2600 years on from 600 AD. Obviously the numbers mean something else.

And in Awakening we meet Thomas, almost as old as Viktor, powerful and ancient, wearing the robes of an Elder and the leader of his coven since before the Purge. So it looks like the numbers represent the 3 Ancient Elders, and another 23 regional ones ruling the various scattered covens around Budapest, eastern Europe and New York. They might be old and possibly turned only by the Ancient 3, but still lesser in rank and importance.

Kraven wasn't a hero, but he wasn't an outright villain like Vulture or some of Spidey's other foes.

On one hand Kraven did become a hero, in trying to do things to his own ends, he did end up helping Selene. Like LBJ and Eisenhower did end up helping me ( Deaf, Transgender, Mental Illness.)
