Kraven, as noted, is no hero.
Not even in the delusional sense that he sees his own actions as noble even if others don't type self-identity.
He was a power hungry, ladder climbing ass who'd do what it took to get ahead and not get caught. Which is really why I could go for a second prequel that lays out a juicer story of the deal he made to be seen as a "hero". Afterall, Selene was around then so Kate's star power could be utilized to tell this story. It also could tie Tanis back in as well since this is around when Kate had him imprisoned in that secluded fortress with lycan guards if memory serves.
