Una's fate

Perhaps I'm an uninformed trek fan thats not in on it, but is there a consensus out there on what Una's fate is (i.e longevity) in Starfleet.?/Srar Trek? Or is it a totally open canvass?

In "Those Old Soldiers " there's some strong foreshadowing by the Lower Decks characters that Una has a tragic fate ( If I interpreted it correctly....Did I?)

Ive never been huge on non cannon stuff . Is there any memory beta speculations on what happened to her from an in-universe historical perspective? Are we in consensus that she has some sort of tragic fate? Or I'm wrong thinking this is a given? I just don't get the feeling she will live to a ripe old age after a long storied Starfleet career. But maybe I'm wrong with this assumption.

No. Her and Pike speculate she might have a tragic fate based on the way Boimler acted around her, but we learn at the end of the episode he was just nervous around here because of his admiration for her.

She becomes one with the computer.

Peter David (in the "New Frontiers" novels) was not the first to riff on the similarities between Number One's voice and the ship's computer. :)

DC Comic's first comic annual showed Number One suffering severe injuries during Pike's handover of the ship to Kirk, which is why Spock was given a promotion.
