Once when i had lost my debt card and could not wait till monday to get money from the bank i had to use the credit card to get cash. I went on line straight away and paid the bill but they still charged me interest.

Taking cash out with a credit card is one of the costliest ways to get a short-term loan there is. If you're that desperate for a little bit of short-term bridging credit, get an authorised overdraft on your bank account instead. Otherwise tighten your belt for a few days to save up the money you need.
