Trills and other species and is Stargazer officialy dead?

If we can give Klingons their own series, why not for Trills? There's still so much we don't know about them? While we are at it, why not Ferangis?

Maybe because even the IKS Gorkon / Klingon Empire series is dependent on the success of A Burning House to be continued. Why taking a risk with a new series when a similar series is fighting for its survival?

Or maybe because there are already too many series for the current number of slots on the schedule.

Pick your answer.

As for Stargazer, it is neither alive nor dead. Mike Friedman wrote a limited series that covered the first six months of Picard's captaincy of the Stargazer. It came to a conclusion that resolved its major storylines and ended with the ship being assigned to a new, long-term mission of exploration. There's always the possibility that further SGZ tales could be told in some form, if the right idea came along, either individually or as a series. But I doubt they'd be a direct continuation of the one-month-per-book format of the limited series, since that would take over 250 books to get through the whole thing. Personally, I'd expect any further SGZ adventures to jump forward to a later period when Jack Crusher is with the crew. Though that's just me.

And Picard is in a randier phase of his life (not to mention some commitment issues), romancing then standing up Jenice (future Mannheim), lusting after Jack's fiancee (a med student nearly half his age) , trysting with Miranda Vigo, etc....

An older version of Kirk :)

i'd rather have a Romulan-centric series or Cardies...

Does Terok Nor count?

I'd be interested in further relaunch time-era than prequel-type stuff - I must say however that the copy used to flog the book on Amazon might raise a few eye-brows:

In 1993 -- a decade ahead of its time -- Star Trek: Deep Space Nine began with an eerily prophetic and untold back story: the controversial military occupation of an alien world, and the violent insurgency that fought against it.
