Personally, I'd expect any further SGZ adventures to jump forward to a later period when Jack Crusher is with the crew. Though that's just me.

And Picard is in a randier phase of his life (not to mention some commitment issues), romancing then standing up Jenice (future Mannheim), lusting after Jack's fiancee (a med student nearly half his age) , trysting with Miranda Vigo, etc....
