Trek KFC commercial

Never saw it before; pretty nifty. Good thing they didn't have Spock chomping on a piece of chicken!

No CGI was employed. Through subtle makeup and lighting effects, the players appeared as the original actors. Enhancing the effect, was the overdub of all the lines by Shatner et. al.

Very well done. At first, I thought CGI too, but upon close inspection, as KirkPicard says, you can see it's just well done makeup and lighting. Now, who wants the Starfleet issue plates? /raises hand :D

The guy playing Kirk did a really good job, regardless of the overdubbed Shatner dialog. I'm wondering if they didn't get approval or cooperation from Nimoy, considering how Spock is mentioned as getting the food, but it's not him picking it up. The rest is done so well, I really don't miss him, but his absence does stand out.

Never saw that in my part of the US. That was one of the best parodies. Fascinating.

Why not? He's tasted animal flesh before -- and enjoyed it. :bolian:
Spock was evolutionary changed during that episode...
I would have gone ape shit over this commercial a few years ago!...Although now it seems less "funny"...because it is just that..a charecter parody of the "true" originals. I suspect that Nimoy wasn't able to give his input on just how Spock would be portrayed, is why we didn't get his likeness or voiceovers during it. Or that he wanted too much for his voice being in it that they just didn't put him in.....;)
