Thanks. I see they were on VHF channel 9, but I can't guess what the 3 would have stood for. Any idea?...KGMB -- the TV station which carried Hawaii 5-0 during its original run, and which also used the "9&3 TV" identifier visible on the banner.

At least with those call letters, you know it's not in The Valley.Different letters, it's a radio station.

Maybe assuming "POI" refers to the Hawaiian food? How's that?
This. As a radio station call sign, it would be hard to pick a more Hawaiian three-letter combination.Maybe assuming "POI" refers to the Hawaiian food?
I remember that, but as I recall, the friendly fire accident was extremely realistic. It happens on hunting trips: the guy out in front pops up to take a shot just as the guy behind him is shooting at the same deer.Airing the same week as that episode of H5O was The Six Million Dollar Man, "The Bionic Woman: Part II". Malachi Throne and Paul Carr guested in both parts as a mustache-twirling villain and his main henchman. In a twist on the old "Paul Carr usually gets shot in the end" trope that I recall having been discussed somewhere upthread, their role in the story climaxed with an oddly cartoonish bit of business. Their characters had split up in the woods with rifles to try to find spots from which to aim their rifles at the Bionic Duo while they were getting away. Throne's character stands up in Carr's line of fire just as Carr takes his shot, which goes into Throne's back!
I love that bit. He wants a hug before Alex leaves.Judd Hirsh mistakes Ian Wolfe for his father whom he hasn't seen in thirty years on an episode of Taxi, airing on CatchyTV.
