Does anyone know where I can get a Q costume?
I don't, but you've made me curious - what is a 'Q costume'?

AFAIK, we don't see the Q in 'species-specific' clothing. Usually they'll just wear a Starfleet uniform, or some outrageous historic outfit. Or do you mean the 'judge Q'-costume from Encounter at Farpoint perhaps?

Hello,

I'm Melissa and I am a complete newbie here. I am surprised to see an active forum still exists today, I used to love visiting forums back when they were popular. I grew up with Star Trek from birth thanks to my mother who is a massive Trekkie. At the age of 30, I finally really explored the Star Trek universe myself and I really fell in love with the Next Generation after watching first contact. I like the concept behind Data, Riker is really awesome and Picard is just a great captain.

Been watching TNG since it was on air.
Love the HD releases. Never thought I'd get to see TNG in such quality.

I have favorite episodes & characters but I don't require that others share my opinion, nor do I understand TNG fans who seem to have that requirement.

My favorite main characters are (1) Data, (2) Picard and (3) Riker. Though Data & Picard are almost tied for 1st place.

I do not blindly/religiously defend TNG.
I love it but I view it as a largely flawed version of what could have been, which is the same way I view OST.
Perhaps, in some alternate universe, the show was made with much greater care, much greater attention to detail and without the monetary focus, time limitations, disorganization, miscommunications and external meddling & influence that produced most of its flaws.

I have two modes in which I watch TNG:
1. Go With The Flow (disbelief suspended, flaws mostly ignored)
2. Critic (watching for flaws and sometimes jotting them down)

Some episodes are so bad that I can no longer bear to watch them unless it's for analysis.
Some episodes are so good there's barely any flaws to jot down.

I really wish I had known they were accepting writing submissions from freelance writers back when the show was on air. I would have submitted something.

Okay, I've said enough. 🖖

Hello everyone! New to this board, but have been on various trek boards or IMDb trek pages (before it shut down). Look forward to having some good conversations.

I don't see my screen name below my M box. Do I have to do something to make it show up?

Hi! I began to watch Star Trek: TNG a few years ago. Next, I watched Star Trek: Voyager, and I tried to watch another one, but I wanted to watch TNG again because I think it's the best one.

My favorite character is Data because I'm a software developer, so sometimes I like it when he thinks in terms of algorithms, haha.

Perhaps you'll notice I'm not a native English speaker because of the way I write, but I thought it was a good idea to come here to practice and improve my English by talking about something I really like.

Welcome to the BBS! I agree that TNG is the best one, and Data is my favourite too. :)

I didn't even notice your English is flawed until you pointed it out! You speak English well, and I hope this BBS helps you to even further improve. :D

Welcome, @neverkas !

I love all Trek, especially TNG, DS9, and VOY, but I always come back to TNG.

I hope you enjoy your time here with us.

We don't tend to have much pinned in this forum, so I think that we can get away with having one of these introductory threads. If you're a regular poster or visitor here, or a recently arrived newbie, then take a moment to post in here, and give us a few words telling us which characters/actors and aspects of TNG are your favourites to discuss. :)

I will start us off ... I like to think of myself as fairly flexible in my TNG viewing, but have come to have a slight preference for the more character driven stories in recent years. I also like finding good qualities in some of the more often critisised episodes ("Justice", "Shades Of Gray", "Sub Rosa" etc ...).

While I consider Picard and Data to be the best written characters, Riker is nonetheless my favourite, with Q my favourite guest star.

I like to amuse myself by disturbing people with Picard/Q pictures like this one. :p

Anyone else?
S/K or D/P?
Spock Kirk or Data Picard?

My vote? Always Data Picard. I'm an inveterate fan of TNG. While I love TOS, and DS9.

The others are less fortunate: VOY, ENT, ST1 2 and 3, b/s, Sec 31, ... The list goes on. I'd like Meryl Streep to play Nana Visitor's role. Meryl Streep as Major Kira Nerys.

Hugh Jackman as Data, Patrick Stewart as smartass Captain Picard, Ian McKellen as the Borg (ohhh! Frightening! ( )

And my world is done.
