This is fascinating. Collapsing bubbles produce light

There are several theoretical explanations, but very few of them have been falsified by experiment. One proposal invokes conversion of virtual photons to real ones. Honestly, I'd prefer that physicists concentrate on researching phenomena such as this rather than building ever larger multi-billion Euro particle colliders.

Yeah this would be really good if they could research this kind of thing. I'm thinking researching this might lead to other things, I'm not sure what but just a feeling.

Wow. Can’t speak to the cost efficiency or realistic development of this phenomenon at scale, but it seems it would have a number of potentially beneficial applications!

ORNL had a bubble fusion program going on for awhile, though like most ORNL things, (see their parallel universe experiment), I don't think much came of it. Sonoluminescence ends up attracting all the nuttier cold fusion types (not the serious ones, and a few do still exist) so I think anyone who wants funding, even someone as far from mainstream physics as Eric Lerner, mostly stays away from it.

Still…maybe someday some benefit will arise…

…meanwhile, Transporter Tech, Warp Drive and Replicators for my Research Money!!!
