Amelia should end up taking a whirl at piloting the Cerritos. I'd even support pairing her up with Captain Bateson, given their similar situations.

Yes, and the episode states that the ship that abducted the humans was destroyed in the revolt. But it wouldn't be impossible for some other tech from the race to be found or, built upon in such a way that the 37s end up a lot closer to Earth than at the end of the episode.
