The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition HELP!!!

I'm right at the beginning, in the Scum Bar. You're supposed to go into the kitchen and cook the meat and take the pot, but my game never lets me pick up the meat or the pot. Just says "Look at meat" and "Look at pot". How the hell do I progress? Am I forgetting to do something? I've pretty much talked to all the pirates, the dog, I've scared away the seagull and taken the fish.

Totally lost!! And I checked a walkthrough. Don't see what I'm missing. Anybody else have this problem with the XBox Arcade version?

The pot your looking for is under the table the meat is sitting on, not the one on the stove, you need to go to actions menu and pick the hand/pick up icon.

I am playing this on the Ps3.

LOL, I figured it out. I wasn't using the action menu at all, because I am lame and didn't know how to activate it. I actually forgot it existed until I switched from the SE version to the original graphics.

hehe Yeah, not used to playing this on an XBox.

Yeah, something about playing the original Monkey Island (not touching the terrible HD remake-engine) on my HD TV is just wrong

But then you don't get Dominic Armato! That was half the reason I bought the SE.

that was a big gripe for SMI:SE so they made it so you can turn the voices on in classic mode for MI2, they also greatly tweaked the game engine

yeah, I play MI2 more in the HD version than I do in classic, but the hint line scene has 2 different voice actors depending on which version you are in
