Spoilers The Roddenberry Archive brings every iteration of Star Trek’s USS Enterprise bridge to life

Agreed. And I'm 100% with @Roald in that it should definitely be entered into the canon. It is simply too good not to be.

So, is Gary Mitchell at the heart of the Nexus, controlling it, akin to Loki now being at the center of all multiverse timestreams in the MCU? He can't have been simply killed after Kirk dropped the boulder down on him. I suspect his mortal body died and the "god-like" Mitchell ascended and happened to find the Nexus while meandering around the universe.

I'm thinking the Vulcan behind Saavik may actually be the son she had with Spock during their time together on Genesis. IIRC, she was supposed to have been pregnant at the onset of TVH, which is why she remained on Vulcan with Amanda. That whole storyline was obviously removed early on in the process, but they definitely seem to be piecing together different bits of apocrypha and fan speculation about off-screen happenings in the universe.

I couldn’t quite make out, in the new “Unification” short—
Who was the Vulcan just behind Saavik? It seemed like we were supposed to recognize him.
According to the credits, he's called Sorak. There's a character by that name in the novelverse, but I don't think that'd be him (he has nothing to do with anyone else in the short). I think @137th Gebirg is probably on the money, with the ambiguity for audience interpretations of that plotline.

Bringing in Yor, a one off non-speaking role from Discovery as the means for Kirk to go to the Kelvin Timeline was an interesting connection.

For those who haven't watched Discovery

Is the Kevin Feige in the special thanks the Kevin Feige? The Marvel Feige?

Oh, that makes perfect sense! Thank you.

Welp, I guess that’s confirming that there’s
an afterlife of sorts in the Trek universe, though I guess you could argue it’s “really” Kirk-in-the-Nexus. No sign of the Black Mountain!

Yes, he helped us in a really wonderful way that made some things possible we might never have been able to do. I showed him an early cut in July. He is a huge Star Trek fan!

I Think it's partly real, as they specifically had him interact with a know Kelvin Timeline time traveller to get him to Spock's death bed in the Kelvin Timeline

Yep, I'm pretty certain that was supposed to be the implication there.

Also,

The interview with Robin Curtis seems to imply that this 'Sorak' was supposed to be Saavik and Spock's son.

ST: VII (7) -- Star Trek: Generations, not 6.
I was actually talking about two different “end scenes”: The Undiscovered Country’s “One Star to the right etc”, AND Generations’ “Was anybody in here?” The latter leaves a bad taste, but the former felt uninspired.

Also, who is 'Crusher' supposed to be? I'm assuming he's the old white-haired man in the white uniform with gold trim. But is he an older version of Wesley? Is he Jack?

EDIT: Oh..yeah..duh. A dress uniform.

His appearance in NEM was hard enough to square with the end of Wesley in TNG. Harder still with his appearances in Picard and Prodigy (where he has essentially become Doctor Who). Now we're supposed to think that when he appears in whatever Star Trek Heaven this is (can we call it Lockwood?) that he appears as he did in NEM but super old?

Well, as the Frantics taught us, the afterlife (Heaven) is Presbyterians only. Everyone else can go to Hell.
I forget which denomination believes in Heaven, with the major difference being, you don't go there (or the other place) right away. Your soul remains in your dormant body after death until the Rapture, at which time the Judgment occurs and then everyone goes to where they need to go based on the results. A bit different POV, anyway...
