So week 1 has been completed. I'm quite happy that my Eels won. Auckland is a hard away game. Next is Penrith who were very poor against Newcastle.

I reckon the Dragons will end up as Premiers and the Sharks will come last.

Don't waste your time talking about the game or thinking about it. Melbourne Storm are going to win this year. So it shall come to pass. Surrender now

Nick, if Melbourne Storm win the Premiership, I'll wear a Collingwood avatar for a month afterwards and on facebook for a week.

LOL. It will be the Dragons, but it's too early to tell at the moment. Melbourne are gonna really need their big three to stand up and early on, as they will miss all three of them (well maybe not Cronk) during the rep season.

I'm expecting the Eels to be placed between 6th and 10th. But I reckon they will be in the final 8.

Waiting to see how the Raiders go against someone who comes to play 80 minutes before I really rate where they are.

After last year, like many other fans I'm expecting a top 8 finish.

^ I think the Raiders will be too strong for the Broncos tonight. Next week? Away to the Tigers. A lot depends on how the tigers bounce back this weekend.

My tips (as I posted this on FB earlier) - Eels, Raiders, Storm, Tigers, Cowboys, Rabbitohs, Roosters and Dragons to win this weekend. Parramatta will win by at least 20 points tonight.

I had a feeling the Raiders would lose (of course I tipped them to win out of hope), I think they are a better side than the Broncos but tonight was the same issues as last week, but this time there was a side that could fight for 80 minutes. That said I thought it would be more of a Broncos v Cowboys scoreline.

The Raiders did fall apart in the last 20 minutes. A problem they had at the start of last season as well, but it was worse as it was usually from a nice lead. You could see they got frustrated and the Broncos side capitalised by keeping their composure, which is a good sign for that side moving forward.

However, despite this loss there is a lot to like about the Raiders. Orford is off the pace, but I think everyone expected it. He would have really benefited for playing round 1 and if he stays fit come round 5 he I think we'll be seeing more of the Orford of old.

Dugan is back next week, and the question would be what happens to Milne, he's a good player who unfortunately is in a side with a good stock of outside backs. Campo isn't due back until week 12 and Tongue week...6, I think. Not that they will automatically fix the problems. The Raiders just need to put a bit more polish on their play and play a bit more up the middle, where they have great strength and they have more than enough talent that in just over 20 weeks they should be preparing for the final series.

Plus, given where they came from mid-way through last season, I think you'd be a brave person to write them off anytime soon. I have to admit I wrote them off by mid-season last year, so this year I'm going to be a bit more patient. If the season continues like it has for the first two rounds we have a fantastic series to look forward to, it'll be close and unpredictable, just have to hope the players don't do too much off field to distract from it.

Looks, like the Eels lost as well. Similar scoreline to the Raiders v Broncos match. Haven't seen the game to comment on how either side played.

the Eels were very disapponting, but Penrith were the better team. It was a different Penrth team than last week. Much more effort was being shown.

Both Raiders and Eels will need to lots of improving in the next week. Alcohol helps getting over a loss.

For Super Saturday you only got the Cowboys wrong, they lost to the Knights.

The Raiders haven't enjoyed much luck with the Tigers recently, they lost all their matches against them last year, one where they were run down at the death and the quarter final last year. But the Tigers look a lot like the Raiders do, they've got points in them but they don't have the polish at the moment. So who knows, we could get a game with a 6 - 4 scoreline or one with 50+ points between them.

Union is the only code.

^ My tipping has sucked this weekend. Only 2 from 7.

I'm expecting the Eels to bounce back against Souths. There shall be a few changes, with Reddy returning. They missed him on Friday night. Jennings ran around Morgan a few times on Friday night.

And the Sharks complete the round by beating the Dragons. A very interesting first two rounds.

Hopefully round 3 can be better. Looking forward to tomorrow night and Eels playing the Rabbitohs. Should be a good forwards clash, with the Eels winning naturally.

Also some time during the first half, Nathan Hindmarsh should do his 10,000th tackle, and be the first player to reach the 10k mark.

^ After that win, the Dragons have suffered a few key injuries to some of their forwards, and losing three back row forwards isn't helping them. Some experts say they could miss the final 8 this year.

But I'm looking forward to tonight and the Eels beating Russell Crowe's South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The blokes on the Footy show said the Broncos and Eels would win easily, which was the kiss of death in the last two weeks, so I'm tipping the other way.

Edit: Well, one each way. Didn't see the Eel's game but watched the second half of the Titans v Broncos...the Titans were pretty average in attack, but the Broncos were also good in defence. The try saver on Zillman by Beale was magic.

Worst thing was Hodges scored a soft try through piss weak defence. I say that because I really dislike Hodges, he comes across as an arrogant prick.

The Eels were very average last night. The souths left attack is very deathly with Taylor and GI running at you. Reddy should return next week, as Ryan Morgan got beaten so many times by GI last night.

Well, Raiders lost. Didn't see/listen to the game. I'll catch the highlights later but it sounded as if it was pretty one-sided that the ten point win doesn't effectively display.

Instead I decided to follow the Brumbies v Waratahs game and got another limp display by the Brumbies. I've pretty much lost just about all respect for this year's side for both their disrespectful off field performance and their spineless, gutless, insipid on field performances. So full of post-game venom at the moment.

Anyway, did listen to the 2nd half of the Panthers v Sharks and the Panthers were t-e-r-r-i-b-l-e. It's fair to say the Sharks aren't a flashy side but the Panthers made them look like Real Madrid. I'm glad I'm not also a Panther's fan because if I were I'd probably be on a rampage through the streets right now.

So another round is almost here. Tonight as predicted, the Knights members accepted Tinkler's offer to buy the club. Will be interesting to see what happens over the next few years. But front page on the newspaper is very likely.
