Okay, that did seem like a fun trailer and I can see how it'd excite Muppet fans, of which I'm not one of them so I wasn't "excited" or thrilled with it but I can see the appeal in it.

Yeah, that was a great trailer. Very cleverly done. Felt like the classic Muppets. Kind of wish they'd use Green with Envy as title for the movie, like Green with Envy: Featuring The Muppets.

This is one movie I might actually see in 3D, only because of the inevitable scene of the Swedish Chef throwing fish at the camera.

Meatballs would definitely work, though. And it's not like the other guy can't still throw fish.

Really? With the heavy, driving music and slow motion and what looked like the aftermath of an explosion, I figured it was parodying some gritty crime drama or gang picture.

Loved it. Someone in marketing has their thinking cap on.

Come to think of it, that's another thing I didn't like -- all the fake quotes from made-up gag-name media outlets. If the goal is to reintroduce these characters to a new generation and convince people that they're worth seeing, surely it makes more sense to draw on real quotes from decades' worth of real articles and reviews praising the Muppets and their work. It shouldn't be necessary to fake it.

They're not trying to "reintroduce the characters." At all. These trailers exist solely for the purpose of letting people know that a movie is coming. Notice how they're not telling you anything about the actual movie, or even discussing any of the Muppets outside of throwing down Kermit and Piggy's names?

I calculate the odds that I am not in the target audience for the teaser trailer to be at least 89%.

But, oh my God, Amy Adams is so hot.
