The fate of Kate

I've been following one of the lost from the beggining threads here on the board, and watching a few of the episode along with them. Before re-watching Eggtown, I had completely forgotten that Kate was on 10 years of probation and was not allowed to leave the state of California. By heading back to the island, she violated her terms of probation. All the other problems with them leaving the island (explaining how Sawyer is alive, explaining where she was, explaining who Richard was..) aside, can those of us who grew to dislike Kate over the course of the show safley assume that she did something like, 6-7 years in jail?

Good point, but there is a paper trail showing her getting onto the plane. With Jack, Sun, Sayid, and Hurley all dissapearing, wouldn't you think someone would dig into what Kate was doing enough to find that they were all on the same plane?

I believe that the fifth and sixth seasons covered about 10-14 days total and for a few of those days Kate was in 1977.

It's a good point and even more relevant is that she's part of the "Oceanic 6" so she would have explain what happened to Jack, Sun & Sayid.

LOST SERIES FINALE SPOILERS

Kate was able to get off the island TWICE! Jack, Hurley, Sayid, Sun all got a chance live for 3 years back home as part of the Oceanic 6 until they were roped back to the island. Three of those people died and one was turned next Jacob, so he had stay on the island to watch over it. Meanwhile, nothing bad happens to Kate and she gets off the island for the second time again. On the other hand, Juliet died before she could get back to her sister... *sigh*
