The Enterprise-J is the most distant, advanced USS Enterprise we've seen on screen. Everything beyond was hard to imagine - until DSC S3 established Starfleet's style for mid-31st to the late 32nd century. Now, it's a little easier to imagine the alphabet of ships named Enterprise, and speculatively fill in some gaps!
-1st: Enterprise NX-01
* class: NX class (original), Columbia class (refit)
* times active: 2151-2161
* notes: Earth ship, from ENT
0th: USS Vol'Rala AG-7-10
* Kumari class
* c. 2140s to 2165
* Andorian for "enterprise", from Rise of the Federation
1st: USS Enterprise NCC-1701
* Constitution class (original), Enterprise class (refit)
* 2245-2285
* appears in DSC
2nd: Enterprise-A
* Enterprise class
* 2285-2293, destroyed in 2300
* destroyed in Shatnerverse novels
3rd: Enterprise-B
* Excelsior class (upgraded)
* 2293-2319
* precise fate uncertain - ship lost according to FASA
4th: Enterprise-C
* "Narendra" class (at launch, according to ST: Trexels), Ambassador class (refit)
* 2332-2344
* from "Yesterday's Enterprise"
5th: Enterprise-D
* Galaxy class
* 2363-2371
* from TNG
6th: Enterprise-E
* Sovereign class
* 2372-2408
* decommissioned in STO
7th: Enterprise-F
* Odyssey class (orig), Yorktown class (refit)
* from 2409, active by 2411
* potentially the Enterprise active during the Second Romulan War in the 2460s (Strange New Worlds anthology story "Guardians of Forever")
* from STO
8th: Enterprise-G
* uncertain and unestablished
* active in the mid/late 25th century
* replaces the F after the war?
9th: Enterprise-H
* uncertain and unestablished
* active late 25th to early 26th century
* Perhaps like in the abortive Star Trek: Final Frontier, the Federation goes through a period of contraction around the 8th and 9th Enterprises, explaining the lack of access to the Iconian gateway, Dyson sphere and transwarp networks (from STO) in later centuries (DSC).
10th: Enterprise-I
* Bismarck class
* launched 2516, active by 2528
* from Star Trek: Final Frontier (unproduced animated series), relatively small battleship. Captain Alexander Chase and his crew bring an end to the period of contraction.
11th: Enterprise-J
* Universe class
* launched in the 2540s, participating in Temporal War in 2554; in total active for over 100 years
* based on ENT "Azati Prime" (alternate version seen) and STO (prime version). Another golden age for the Federation. Largest Federation Enterprise ever.
12th: Enterprise-K
* uncertain and unestablished
* active in the 27th century
13th: Enterprise-L
* uncertain and unestablished
* active from the late 27th to early 28th century
* perhaps contemporary around 2677, when Kal Dano works on the Tox Uthat on Lirss Prime (STO: "Vorgon Conclusions")
14th: Enterprise-M
* uncertain and unestablished
* active in the 28th century, around 2769, when the Temporal Accords are signed by Galactic Union members and associates at New Khitomer (STO: "Temporal Reckoning")
15th: Enterprise-N
* when playing, I use the XIndi Narcine class (XIndi Aquatic ship) flying backwards to represent the curvilinear/arrowhead Starfleet style of this era. Let's call it the World class.
* active in the 29th century, when another period of contraction begins
16th: Enterprise-O
* Dreadnought class - when playing, I use the white-colored GamePrint 5" model, with Starfleet markings, of the Kelvinverse's Vengeance/Dreadnought class, because it seems like a good precursor shape for the Kirk class
* active in the 30th century during the Temporal Wars, decommissioned in 2999
17th: Enterprise-P
* Kirk class (31st century Constitution class)
* 2999-3069, major refit in 3022, destroyed in the Burn
* Why Kirk class? Because it's the most typically Enterprise-looking of the era.
* Why P? Meta, the Voyager-J is a reference to Janeway, so perhaps there's a Defiant-S (warships wouldn't last as long) for Sisko, and the P for Picard.
18th: Enterprise-Q
* to be established in DSC
* launched in or after 3190s
* Why Q? Because Q follows P(icard)!
Bonus: Enterprise-∞
* Mega-Federation starship (malleable sphere, 200 km in diameter)
* launched in 12.265, active by 1.012.260
* from SNW anthology story "Our Million-Year Mission"
