The deaths continue - Karl Malden Died

Just heard this on the radio.

I think my favorite role of his is his portrayal of General Bradley in Patton. His perfomance isn't flashy and tends to be sort of in the background, but it is very solid and enjoyable. I think Malden was a nice down-to-earth counterpoint for Scott's performance as Patton in much the same way Bradley was a sort of counterpoint for Patton in real life.

To be honest I thought he was already gone.

I guess were going to have to stop saying it 'happens in threes" were now into it happens in six or eights(depending on how you rate your famous people).

Add me to the list that thought he already passed.

Rest In peace Mr. Malden

RIP.

Wow, that Rule of 3 is really something. He's like the third celebrity in a nonsensical non-sequential series of threes to die.

He's been retired from acting for some time now (wasn't his last appearance a special guest spot on The West Wing in its first season?), but he'll be missed all the same. An acting giant who was memorable in Patton, as well as dozens of other films.

RIP Mr Malden.

Not getting why everyone is so obsessed with this 'death in 3's' silliness that seems to be permeating all of these threads...but I do care about Mr. Malden. He was in alot of great films.

Maybe TCM will do a memorial and play a string of his movies.

Damn, one of the really good, really nice ones.

Also a Vet /** and a teacher. :(

I liked how he always managed to work his family name into any film he was in.
