The best battle scenes of any Star Trek

I have to say that some of the Dominion War stuff was some of the very finest space battle footage I have ever seen. Fantastic coupled with some great musical scores. Some footage would have been more then adequate for a motion picture of studio A grade! This is one of several reasons this show stands out as my favorite.

The fight between the Odyssey and the Jem'Hadar fighters in "The Jem'Hadar".

For sheer impact value, nothing beats that. I love the way that a piece of the engineering hull spins off and blows apart the front of the warp nacelle.

"Divert shield power to weapons!"

Sacrifice of Angels has one of my favorite space battle of all time. It's still an awe-inspiring television achievment a decade later. There's just so much that's iconic about that battle-- The Galaxy class ships hammering the Cardassian ships aside with their phasers; the Setak and the Majestic disintegrating under Dominion fire; the Klingon 'cavalry' arriving. Most importantly, though, is that it comes with a meaningful storyline so that the whole thing isn't just meaningless explosions. And I'll also add that unlike many posters here, I found the prophet-ex-machina at the end to be very fitting.

Totally agree on those episodes, my favorite however is the platform conquest in Tears of The Prophets. The rolling annhilated Excelsior is fantastic, and listen to the fantastic musical soundtrack in those battle scenes, wonderful!

Sacrifice of Angels has to be my fav battle, But one thing Bugs me about it.
If im not mistaken the number 1 priority was for them to reach ds9 to stop them from bringing down the mine field.
So i ask this, why didn't the Klingons just go straight to ds9 instead of joining the battle?
And how the hell did the dominion evacuate ds9, there were no cardy/dominion ships there!

There were Cardy and Dominion ships there all the time. Notice them in the first scene of the film for sure, when the camera pans over the astations as the opening credit tags appear.

Also Worf and Gowron were told not to go to DS9 but to join the fleet in its engagement on it, they had to coordinate their strategy.

Of course this brings the larger question..if you are blocked by 2000 ships just set a warp heading around them. Of course then there'd be no show.

Those episodes mentioned above were great but nothing beats "The Changeing Face Of Evil" when the fleet is disabled by the Breen then The Defiant gets it. In a way it almost like loseing a character from the show but not for long.

Ya. The Defiant was a great character in her own right. I always saw DS9 as this old man, scarred, battered but still there while the Defiant was like this pitbull guarding her master.

Yes, but... the Dominion are warp-capable, too.

For me it's always been "The way of the Warrior" that was the best battle scene. Seeing all those Klingon ships flying over DS9 blasting the hell out of it and getting the hell blasted out of them as the music reflected this total chaos.

Ah... So you're the one who voted for Warrior in the 'WotW v SoA' poll!

Deep Space Nine battle scenes are the best in sci-fi! A credit to a grand TV show! I remember being very impressed when the show was on the air, and I still am!

Another battle that has not been mentioned yet, but that is pretty good, is the one in The Die Is Cast.

Certainly Sacrifice of Angels is better, IMO...but that one at least deserves a mention, IMO.

I had forgotten about some of these, gonna put in Changing Face of Evil tonight! Dare I say these hold up well to some of the battles in Star Wars films?
