Wow, you've already got no faith in these writers and they show hasn't even debuted! :rommie:
As I said, it's not the character drama I'm worried about. It's the plot.

As I said above it's not that I have lack of faith. It's just that the premise seems pretty limiting. Mini-colony, Dinosaur, Character Drama, Survival = boring to me. If there's more mysteries, adventure, events, plots, etc then maybe it will be good. It's like before deciding to watch a movie or tv series for the first time, you must decide if you like the premise or not, and Terra Nova seems pretty limited at first glance. Still it may turn up with many surprises if it doesn't drag on at being only some form of character drama.

As I said, it's also possible that it will be great.

Oh come on Temis, its Braga (ya know, warp ten makes you lizards, that Braga LOL) we can't let him off that easy. Even if he did not write tonights episodes he still the co-showrunner. :)

I will admit I did kinda like FlashForward.. just a little bit.

No matter what you think of Braga (I personally think he gets unfairly hated around here) he is not the only showrunner. The other is Rene Echevarria. And they only took control of the writers room after this episode.

Braga is just one of the writers, he cannot poison everything he touches simply by his very presence! :rommie:

And I'm willing to give even him the benefit of the doubt...TATV was a long time ago...

I like Braga too. :) The first episode is often not representative of the rest of the series. Episode 2 and 3 are much bigger and often different indicator.

Tonight is episode 1 and 2. Are both episodes before Braga/Echevarria, or just the first one?

I'm sure other people can answer. But personally, I meant episode 3 and 4 (I considered the pilot one episode here).

Thanks, I just wanted to be certain we were speaking the same language.

Falling skies was a bear to follow episode number. TNT aired ep 1 and 2 together as the opener, and 9 and 10 together as the finale, and different sources, numbered it as only 8 episodes total or as 10 episodes.

I don't hate Braga, I just like to pick on him sometimes :). I like some of the stuff he has done. TATV aside, when it came to Enterprise, Manny was the best, of course im a bit biased there for obvious reasons LOL

I'm not sure actually. IMDB just has part 1 listed and that is written by the 2 creators (Craig Silverstein and Kelly Marcel). So I guess we'll see :)

I just logged onto this party... I don't really know what to expect either, but I'm along for the ride to see if it's worth it or not.

I'm judging this entirely from the poster because this is the first I've ever heard of the show, but it looks really generic. Yes, someone traveling back in time to prehistoric times to recreate civilization is generic.

If the episode gets a lot of positive comments I'll check it out at a later date, but as of now it just isn't on my radar. Hopefully it turns out pretty good.

So, um,wouldn't him opening the door cause the toxic outside to get inside? Shouldn't the doorway be more of an airlock?

Plenty of shows manage to sustain drama with no sf/f gimmicks at all: Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Justified, Dexter.
Wow, you've just named the exact four shows I have the absolute least interest in ever watching.

Terra Nova's an SF show, so I'm eagerly awaiting the coolest gimmicks that entails. :techman:
