Spoilers Ted Lasso Season 3 Discussion

The new season of Ted Lasso arrived today and I guess they are still going with it being the last season. None of the trailers have made that specific, but there has been talk about maybe spinning off and not featuring Ted but having some of the other characters featured.

As for the first episode of Season 3, I liked it. I had recently rewatched the series to get ready, and it felt like Season 3 brought back some of the hopeful tone from Season 1. Loved the press conference and the scene with Roy, Keeley, and Pheobe.

Just started watching last month. Not seeing any kind of down turn.

I don't think there's anything Nate could do to make me NOT be afraid for him. Rupert is just about pure evil.

I think keeping it short and sweet is best. I could definitely see it becoming a show that quickly outstays it welcome, otherwise.

Rupert is just about pure evil.

Loved the episode last night. Great character development for Roy, and I'm glad Trent Grim will be sticking around. The locker room scene and then the scene in the shower between Ted and Roy was hilarious, especially talking about Christmas movies.

Surprised we didn't see Nate though

The first episode was ok, recap where everybody is and in what state

Second was gold though, i broke out in big laughter multiple times, most due to Roy. I love how they progress with certain characters - Keeley finding her footing in her own company with people who don't click well with her style, Roy making peace with Trent and the not so subtle hints between Roy and Keeley that there are still massive feelings between them.

For a second though i thought they did a stunt casting of Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the character of Zava  They nailed him though and it could be a great source of humor for the season.

Now i'm really looking forward to the inevitable clash between Richmond and West Ham, that will be epic and i hope Nate realizes the path he's on and grows beyond his insecurities.

Episode 2 was magnificent.

If they really do end the show after this season, Roy Kent needs his own spinoff. Just him on the street randomly yelling at strangers to fuck off.

How many places does Anthony Head look SHORT? (In the scene with Rebecca and the bouncer and Rupert.)

I'm loving Trent Crimm.

Love Ted Lasso, it thrives on making you feel good. I am sure Nate is going to redeem himself, and you know Keeley is going to get her staff partying and laughing and Barbara too.

Clearly aimed at the US market more than the UK market as everyone in the UK knows West Ham aren't as big, shiny and all conquering as they are made out.

This (EPL) season, that's certainly true, but it seems every year, things change. My beloved Blues are barely staying in the top 10 this season and I'm not sure all of that can be laid on Graham Potter's shoulders. Or maybe it can. I was disappointed when Tucel was dispatched so quickly without a chance to right the ship.

But back to Ted Lasso. Interesting, the way things are turning. Obviously, the addition of Zava is helping the team, but the commentators are right, it's more his ability than Lasso's coaching that have rocketed Richmond toward the top. They're also heavily telegraphing how this is all going to end, with the things he has going on back home. And that last scene. I think Mr. Crimm, whose character I've come to enjoy, has figured out a way to get back into the news biz.

This episode was so full of good stuff I clean forgot the Julie Andrews conversation.

Also: They played Jesus Christ Superstar and immediately cut to Murray Head's little brother Anthony. Genius!

Yes he has, and its going to come out. Its actually a surprise with how appalling the UK tabloid media is that nothing like it has happened for real. Its more of a tragedy that there will no doubt be gay footballers who are afraid to come out because of the coverage it will get in the media, and of course the abuse they will get from the loud minority on the terraces.

They're also heavily telegraphing how this is all going to end...

Not to mention the fortune teller's predictions. Will Rebecca heed the warning, or is she (drunk as she is) going to drive, flip her car, kill her friend, and inherit her daughter?

Well I can't imagine that for a minute, if she did she would be inside for a few years and doubt she'd be considered suitable guardian material.

Maybe her friend will be driving?

Or maybe she’ll accept the fortune tellers warning now that she’s seen the green matchbook?

I don’t know…they wouldn’t have thrown that scene in there if it was meaningless.

I wondered how long since her relationship with Sam. But must be too long now to be pregnant and not know yet.

I can't imagine it will be anything as dark but who knows. Maybe it will turn out Richmond are her family.
