Talos IV in the 32nd Century

Marie Nomad

Is anyone else curious about if the Discovery will visit Talos IV in the 32nd Century? Everyone knows that Captain Pike will end up there in the end. He has a history with the Discovery and Starfleet would prepare for a thousand years for this. And knowing Spock, he might ask Starfleet to visit Talos IV 1000 years after Pike goes to Talos IV. And Starfleet thinking they have plenty of time just approved it.

I was thinking like an illusion of himself kept alive by the Talosians. And maybe having kids with one of them joining Discovery. A human with the power of illusions but keeps a rigorous set of rules that he refuses to cross.

There’s no particular reason to think the Talosians know how to extend lifespans like that. I wouldn’t mind seeing Talos IV itself in the future era, though. Did they ever repopulate after all (perhaps with Pike/Vina DNA, perhaps some other way), or is Talos IV simply dead now?

What if the Borg had dropped by Talos IV and assimilated Captain Pike, finding him worthy?

Nah.

The native Talosians likely became extinct, and after that the planet itself was up for grabs to anyone who wanted to exploit it or settle on it. I can easily imagine the Ferengi taking interest and collecting the "specimens" from beneath the surface to sell to the highest bidder.

I shudder to think we might see Captain Pike's mobility chair at a Ferengi auction on a Lower Decks episode.

My hope: there's really no reason another psi-powered Federation species couldn't visit Talos IV as a precaution and help them rebuild their world.

They had almost 900 years to do it before the Burn.

It is possible if we take into consideration all the references made to the Talos system, Talos III and Talos IV, in set decoration and Okudagrams that the Federation did step in at some point and helped the Talosians to rebuild their society. Or, less optimistic, the Federation began the process of colonizing the planet after the last of the Talosians had died.
