Supernatural 4x5 "Monster Movie" spoilers and discussion thread

This one was okay--not great mind you by any stretch. It was one of the better fluff pieces the show has done though. I enjoyed the little touches like the opening credits, I enjoyed the filming in black and white since I haven't been too crazy about the washed out tinge to the episodes this season.

Nothing stood out particularly although I enjoyed this Dean more than the more annoying one. Oh I did think the pizza scene was a little forced and was out of place.

Overall this season has been hit or miss. I enjoyd the premiere and "In the Beginning" but found "Metamorphosis" and "God, It's Me Dean Winchester" pretty middling. I would say this is right in the middle of the pack being better than the latter two and not as strong as the former two.

Ben Edlund rules! One of my favorite "light" Supernatural eps so far. This season has been absolutely kick-ass, a definite step up from last year.

Oh and the ratings really, really sucked for this episode. Only Ghostfacers scored lower overnight ratings.:(

Now, now, those were just the overnights. Smallville was down, too. It's just a temporary fluctuation like Ghostfacers was. Don't panic, mswood. You were worried last week with the premiere of CSI and a full slate of new competition and we still scored over 3 million. There was a hotly contested college football game on as well last night.

We'll get our five seasons. Don't worry. Be happy.

Trust me, mswood, this show will play in reruns for a very long time. The fact that it's quality is improving as the show ages makes it a most notable anomaly. Just take a deep breath. The ratings will go back up. :)

Oooooookaaaaaay...... :wtf:

* backs slowly away from Kripke making sure not to make any sudden movements*

I think the thing I took away from this episode is Dean's new attitude. I don't like it one bit. Thinking you're on a mission from God is just as dangerous as anything Sam may be up to. These two are headed for a collision.

Dracula versus the Pizza Guy was definitely genius television, though.

Ben Edlund is definitely a great and unique writer - he also did "Smile Time" for Angel, which was another piece of genius television.

"Re-hymenated." :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw: Oh dear, the Dean girls at TWOP will be aghast at his non political correctness again.
Of course, the pervert in me can't help but note that the hymen belongs to the partner who is... penetrated by another... so Dean is looking forward to getting... re-penetrated... :alienblush:
