The plot: Paul is dead. But just before the console exploded, he performed a mind-meld on Ringo, and left his katra inside Ringo's nose. To restore Paul's body, the Beatles must take the submarine into the Garden of the Octopods, to get a star chart that will guide them to the planet Lucy.
