I've long thought the same.Boimler -- guardian of the canon.
He'd fit in well here.
Boimler, from what I've seen, is someone I'd disagree with 90% of the time.

Uhura’s Datapad had CARDASSIA and Bajor on it. I don’t think Starfleet knows about those planets at this time.
There was an exiled Cardassian living on Vulcan in this time according to DS9.
At least in that case it's a different timeline.
You're in rant mode, so you're not thinking straight, but the answer to that is no.There are actually good Trek shows they could have crossed over with, instead of this trash show.
That's because fans build up assumptions in their minds based on various bits and stories over the years.People sure do love to scream about canon not living up to the fanfic they're written in their heads, when the actual canon doesn't fit their fanfic.
I hate Lower Decks and wish agonizing painful deaths on all of the characters whenever I try to watch so much as a 30 second clip of the show.
This episode didn't change my mind.
In "seasons" that only have 10 episodes, wasting one on this wretched crew with their unprofessional, spoiled brats, is a shame. There are actually good Trek shows they could have crossed over with, instead of this trash show.
And before someone says "nobody is forcing you to watch it," as seems to be a ridiculous comment: you're right. Nobody forced me to watch this episode. But they did include characters I love from a show I love in a franchise I love.
They just put the fictional character equivalent of dog crap all over what is otherwise a delicious steak.
If I hated Lower Decks yesterday, I hate it even more today for ruining this episode and wasting my time and taking up time that could have been spent on characters I give a damn about.
Of course it does. Ortegas has made several references to serving in that war, including this episode. And the next episode seems to reference it as well.Boimler called Ortegas a war hero. Does he mean like in the Klingon War? Because I can't think of any other war in the TOS timeframe that Ortegas would theoretically be a hero in.
Yes.
Always has been.
Right next to TAS and the literal devil being real.I watched a few episodes of that show. Its totally a farce. How can something like even exist after tng? Idiotic. I thought these were going to be different versions of the lower deck characters not coming straight from the cartoon and actuallt acknowledging it. Also boimer pretty much knows the snw world looks more real. So he knows his world looks like a cartoon. Come on man. How does it even fit in any previous trek canon?
Probably because she had to rein it in a bit in front of Pike and Uhura.Boimler felt like Boimler, but something felt off about how Tawny portrayed Mariner. I don't know how to put it into words, but she didn't feel quite like Mariner. I don't know if it was the writing or what.
