Star Wars Force Unleashed-stuck

I don't know if this is a glitch, but I'm on the junk planet and after going through the hyperdrive core I fight some force robots. Then after killing them and some Rodans or Rodians I have to go through a starship. I need to lift a large piece of glowing metal in the ground. It won't lift all the way. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I thought maybe these blocks were holding it down, so I destroyed them. No luck. I can't get into the starship ruin without lifting this thing.

Edit: I just needed to lift up on the control stick while using the force.

Just wait to you get to the...

Star Destroyer

....Most Broken Boss Battle Ever.
True story.

Word of advice: The game will prompt you with commands on how to defeat the Star Destroyer. IGNORE THEM.

It took me like 6 days to beat that damn thing, and I ended up having to look up how to do it!

Too many games do things like that these days - scenes and boss battles that ignore the core gameplay and try to do something different but get it hideously wrong.

Another good example is...

The Sentinel

...from X-Men Origins: Wolverine. That and The Force Unleashed have a lot in common - ridiculously fun to play combat with a superpowered main character punctuated by poorly designed jumping puzzles and buggy unenjoyable boss battles.

Seriously!

The Star Destroyer battle is utterly broken - it was almost totally unplayable. I think it took me an hour to get past it.

Sorry I don't have any advice regarding the OP's problem ... it's just an incredibly buggy game - you could try reverting to a previous save point (I forget ... are there save points in this game? Or just a streaming checkpoint system?)

I just finished destroying the skyhook on Kashykk. I thought fighting the red chick on the mushroom planet was sort of a pain.

I was all set to jump on this game when it first came out until the reviews starting coming in. But I finally bit on it when Gamecrazy was selling it for $15 the other week.

This game is guilty of a terrible, terrible crime, taking ALL the fun out of destroying a Star Destroyed with the Force.

It was also one of the most hyped aspects prior to release - it was the subject of an ENTIRE cinematic trailer and it was one of their main marketing hooks:

YOU CAN TAKE DOWN A STAR DESTROYER USING TEH FORCE OMG!

... and then it turns out to be one of the most utterly broken and joyless boss battles of the decade.

There seems to be a trend there lately. Find the coolest boss battle your character could ever possibly have and then make it absolutely suck.

I'm almost expecting the final boss battle against the Joker in Batman: Arkham Asylum to be a series of unclear, frustrating DS-style puzzles.

YOU CAN TAKE DOWN A STAR DESTROYER USING TEH FORCE OMG!
That was a box quote wasn't it?

I played a bit of this game and I have to say it wasn't as much fun as it should have been. I had more fun in the later levels of Jedi Knight 2 using all my force powers, I think. Although, to be fair, I didn't play the whole TFU game.
