To those who are familiar with the tv series "Futurama", has it ever occurred to you just how many references there are to Star Trek: The original series. For instance, in the episode "Braddigan, Begin Again" there is a meeting of various alien species in a place called "The neutral zone", which has the same name as the barrier between Federation and Romulan space, as well as there being an episode of Futurama called : "Where No Fan Has Gone Before", which features most of the original cast of "Star Trek" being stranded on a planet where they are used as playthings by a childish gaseous alien, until they are rescued by the Planetary express crew. This is very similar to Season 1, episode 17: "The Squire of Gothos". There are also countless other Star Trek references in various Futurama episodes. I was just wondering, as to why are there so many reference to Star Trek in "Futurama". What do you guys think?

The whole point of Futurama was comedy that references popular sci-fi, and it was great seeing TOS get so many nods. My favorite bit was when witnesses in court had to sit in a Captain Pike style wheelchair for some reason.

Evil Bender!
There's a car with EVLBENDR as its number plate around here. We all snigger when it goes past.

If any of you guys have kids, you might have seen the show, Henry Danger. They did an entire episode that was a spoof of Mirror, Mirror.
They also use what looks (minus the color scheme) a replica of the Phaser Rifle (that Kirk tried to use against Gary Mitchell)
